dog dropping out of chases

Post by boss hog »

I have an 11 month old female that just started running close to a month ago.She is doing an outstanding job except when she is in the chase with the other dogs she will every now & again drop out come to see where I'm at & within 5 mins. she falls back in the pack.Does anybody have any idea why she is doing this?

She is just trying to figure out what is going on. Let her come and go as she pleases she will slowly stop dropping out of the race. Every dog I have ever had started does this at first. How many dogs are you running her with try running her with 1 or 2 only until she builds confidence. If she can't get any of the rabbit she will give up and it will hurt her in the long run.

couldn't of said it any better my self.. Only put her with one or two dogs and see what she does. Also kennel her with these dogs so they buddie up. That helps build confidence with a pup.. IMO
