Who's got the hardest hitting direct son of Branko's Lumberjack?

I really don't agree with the terms Hardest hitting and fastest? I wish more people would look for more than hard hitters and too catch speed. there is more to a dog than that. We have gotten to carried away when talking about speed..What happen to, check work and line control?..All I know of is a good running hound. Some folks take speed too far.. I do know of a direct son here in the U.P. that has done well and has good foot and can run the line honestly!! Branko's Aman's Bugle Boy he is out of Branko's LumberJack and Branko's Lady Bird. I believe he needs one win to Finish. He is the only one up this way that catches my attention. I'd like to know what Lumber Jack himself run's like??
Terms like Hard hitting and really driveing a rabbit are
all in the eye's of who is judging them.

I talk to guy's who run UBGF dog's and they say there dog's really drive a Rabbit.

I also talk to guy's who run midwest and call some pup's out of there stuff conservative??

Who's right or wrong??

It's all in who is saying it.

Just my opinion.

Oh did i forget, I meant fast too. Bushhound, how dare you tell me what I should like and that goes for anyone else too. I asked a question, if you can't help, start your own thread about whatever you like.

Once again, I'm looking for a direct son of Lumberjack that runs with the same style that Lumberjack did when he was young. Fast, hard hitting, dominating. If you can help thanks, as far as other criticing type comments, start your own thread.

Bart, I'm sorry if my post felt like I was critizing you .. I didn't intend it to be directly to you or anyone else. it was just an opinion. I too run some Hard Hitters and feel that all of us including myself need to watch how much foot we put into our dogs. there is more to a dog than just speed. I took like and run lumberjack bred hounds and will continue to as long as they are what I like. I believe you can get speed into a hound in one breeding but it takes many breeding to get your nose, brains and desire that is to a hunters or field trialers liking. The dogs name I gave you on the earlier post I guess you would consider him to be hard hitting and fast. but I know he also has good line control, brains and desire. I have though about breeding to him. I hope you forgive me about my first post I didn't want it to come off as it did. Keep'em running!! Dave Martin

P.S. I watched LumberJack in the 2002 LPH Nationals here in Ironwood and really liked what I seen out of him. I have head from others that he could be rough in his earlier days but when I seen him he was clean and also 11 years old.

Mr. McCoy,

I have spoken with people from New York to Michigan about him. Even those that campaigned him here in the US for Branko. In his younger days he was a hard hitting, hard driving, competitive, run in the front type dog. If he couldn't smell at point of loss he would roam until he found it. Because of this he was picked up often. Most of the time he led the pack from start to finish, if he wasn't picked up. Not bad for 8 hours of running. All of this reminds me of the little pack dogs ran in the arha. If a person likes a dog that sticks to the line and digs a hole at the point of loss they wouldn't like Lumberjack. Most of the dogs he's been bred to in Canada are very conservative females which produce conservative hounds. I have never seen any of his offspring run the way he did. That's why I'm looking for a male like him to breed to.

I wonder if Branko couldn't ship you some frozen seimen that you could breed your bitch too??

I'm sure with all the breeding he has done he does this on occasion?

Maybe it would be worth a call?

I am pretty sure Branko told me Lumberjacks sperm can't be frozen. I guess some dogs sperm is like this. Fresh chilled may be an option. It seems like a better option then using a son but there may be some offspring that are producing similair style hounds. Branko's Timberchuck is producing some nice hounds but I think they are more conservative then your description of Lumberjack. He is located in Ontario. You may want to talk to his owner he could tell you more than I can.

Do you know how I could contact the owner of that male out of LumberJack & Ladybird? I have a female out of that cross. Branko's Visa. Need a few points to finish in NKC/ARHA. I also have seen her sister run. Branko's Bring'em home Beth. Beth is a Lp Champion. I like that cross of LumberJack & Ladybird.
