well we made it back and all I can say is WOW that is some great running/hunting. I was worried about how my dogs would take to running hare but they hit the ground and never slowed down. we had a great time killing 10 in 3 days so we didn't hurt the population any but had great running everytime we set them down.
we met some great people from michigan, indiana and ky. we hunted with a guy by the handle of the frenchman the last day, he seemed like a great guy and really knew his dogs. we took a few pics but they didn't turn out very well but I will post them anyway
the first one is our/my first hare

the second is the result from the first morning hunting with me(right) and david my buddies son with my first 3 hare the dogs are hero whiney and runner from left to right
Image
the third is jeff's first hare monday evening
Image
the fourth is me and the hare I killed the last day notice how all the clothes are sagging from being wet, it seemed like everything we had was wet
Image
and the last is left to right jerry me(paul) and jeff with our 3 hare the dogs are runner, whiney, hero, trooper and itchy, my daughter named 2 of them. they were some real tired dogs this picture was taken around 430pm wed evening

some advice to anyone going to do this is DON'T pull a cattle trailer because it will cut down on your gas mileage tremendously, always have a gps because if you are like us you will get lost just about everytime you set them down and have 2 way radios because these are life savers and a whistle would come in handy to locate each other.

Hope you got them hare limbered up good, their in for real trouble next week...

The cabin behind you is where we stayed last year.
The big flat rock your on is a grand slab isn't it? When I first saw it I thought , what a ready made basketball court...

Looks like you had a real good time, some good looking hounds.
Hearing there's another good crop of young hare, but we found a couple spots where we ran a couple big ones and I want to go back for a rematch again... ;)

Upper Wis, still has my vote as the best hare running so far, give it a try...
Good sport to you...Patch

everyone we talked to said the hare we were killing was young hare and they seemed to be a lot of them, we got on 3 that just left the country and finally started to circle way off from where we jumped them but we didn't kill any of them, in the picture where I was on the rock if you will notice I had a white tee shirt on under my hunting jacket it took me a half a day to figure out why these hare would run right up to me then go around me just out of sight, I started hunkering down then they were running all over me thats when I realized they were seeing my shirt and going around me. we did have a good time and plan on going somewhere every year but I will say it will be hard to beat running those hare, I saw a rabbit in the yard last night and I was wanting to turn my nose up at it lol.
