I would like to say thanks to everyone in gilsville for putting on a good trial. I think we got lucky winning the cast with a pup, but I do think he won it. He really didn't put much in on the final cast with the winners pack, they were hands down better dogs so we got alot of luck on the draw with that first cast. Hilly better quit trying so hard to get everyone going. We will see if I get that lucky at the next trial in cedertown with my what will be 8 month old pup then. 5th at 7 months, I'm sure we will win at 8 months lol.

no disrespect taken, :) Far as rabbit hunting, she's a pretty good dog. Don't always have to have up in four minutes. It was pretty tough conditions that day. By the winners cast, all the dogs were give out from the heat. BTW, I don't actually own that particular dog, my buddy does. Mine finished 6th in the finals though.

On the dog that finished 6th in that final, he could have easily won it. We watched him when they split and he jumped a rabbit right in front of us. I know when all the dogs were done he still seemed interestest in hunting. I think a lot of it was scoring of what could be seen in that final cast. I would be glad to feed a dog like that any day. He will win many trials I'm sure.

I agree big wheeler there was some scoring that couldn't be got but any judge knows u can't get it all u get what u can and give your best. I'm sure Blaze would have had a higher score two when they had that split and she and Jessie and mr harveys dog was running that rabbit we saw on the road then we had to get them and take them back to the pack and she still won hey what can i say i guess she just got lucky huh LOL

Yup lot of scoring goes on in stuff that thick you can't see for sure. Nothing you can do about that tho. I tell you what, just leave those blue ticks with me for a while and I will tell you what I really think of them. If I don't give them back thats good, if I do its bad. Drop them by the house any time fst trac I'll be here. Really are some awesome hounds. How close are they to being champions?

Big wheeler LOL there is no way i could leave them hounds with ya i couldn't sleep with them out of my kennel  they aren't world beaters but i am really impressed with them and them trials are alot of luck so don't let it discourage you. That pup is gonna be good just give him time buddy. Anytime ya want to run some come on over would love to have ya over. That was Only Blazes 2nd trial and jessie needs 5pts to make little pack champion so Blaze is still got a ways to go jessie will finish this year hopefully. And i will probably just start running progressive pack alot more after jessie finishes because it will cut down on all the long trips i have been having to make to just go to a little pack trial. Well take care and i will see ya at cedartown next month.

I was a little discouraged that my Judy dog came in sixth, cause it sure sounded different from the road :D
After thinking on it more and more, the female that got picked up in the previous cast, most likely got the rabbit up that yall ran for the scoring of the hunt. Think about the circle we made each time she was minused and where the rabbit was jumped in relation to where we started. Either way, I am proud of both of them and also know that Judy aint my best dog. You're right about her not quitting. She couldn't understand why everybody was laying around and I was trying to catch her... we hadn't killed the rabbit yet. ;)

Well from what i am gathering in the post sounds like the winning dog wasn't worthy of winning so i will just go with the old saying sometimes it pays to be lucky than to be good. ;)

Chances are if you run PP.in the state of GA. you will get a fair judge.Everyone that trials in GA. probably holds a judges license. We all do our fair shake of judging and give the next man what we want in return.Fair judging! Understand the rules and make common sense decisions.Everyone has a good time and looks forward to coming again. ;)

Good post Ray, I don't have my license yet, but am going to take the test at our next club meeting. I have been "judging" our dogs as we run them for the past couple months to get the hang of it and get in shape. :D It aint easy, and you aint gonna get everything. On the whole though, all the judging I have seen has been straight up w/ no questions asked.[/b]
