Please, no petitions on this board. Tri-Tronics is a huge supporter of this sport in general. Their banner and donated product to the hunts are everywhere I go. They have one of the friendliest and helpful reps in Eddie Thompson of KY (who is a fellow beagler and an AVID rabbit hunter), and they have always supported the beagle magazines -- including mine. When I consider the lack of participation by the other companies, Tri-Tronics is our best friend in the training collar business.

The best thing to do if you are dissatisfied (even moreso than e-mail or petitions) is to write them a letter, put a stamp on it, and stick it in the mailbox. A hand-written letter gets more attention than anything...short of putting CNN on it.

Just my feelings on it.

I have used TT for years and love their reliability and customer service. I can't count the number of friends that when they have even a small problem TT has them send them the whole unit and they just replace it all with new. Had one buddy that got a used unit from someone and ended up sending it in to TT shortly after getting it. This was an old unit and they ended up sending him the newer collars with the on/off switch on them and a new control unit. They charged him like $50 and he ended up with an all new system.

Got many others with stories like that and some of my own but the point is they consistently give a good product with good service. You may occasionally not be satisfied but over the years I think their reputation stands up against the best of them.

I must say that I also have had nothing but good expierences with Tritronics. Had a charger cradle go bad and they sent me a new one free of charge. I have several friends that have nothing but good to say about Tritronics as well. I would say that you should talk to someone in management at Tritronics via phone. They really are great to deal with. I hate that you are having such a difficult time with this issue. Don't give up, and don't loose your patience. I'm sure they will do their best to see that you are satisfied.

I've had their collars for years and have not had a problem yet
in the event that i did have a problem I certainly wouldn't take an answer that didn't suit me from the first person contacted
When you get treated as above post say they were first thing ask for a supervisor
generally get better results from the management than the one that answers the phone

I also have had nothing but great customer service from them. I have dealt with them 3 times in 10years of owning TT equipment. My original purchase was a 2 dog Beagler XL with the green/red LED. Shortly after I purchased it the green LED wouldn't stay lit after a charge. I called and asked if I was doing something wrong and they let me know that they had gotten a bad batch of LED's. They paid the shipping and sent me a free replacement of my whole system. Just last year after having a battery go down on my Beagler XL I decided to upgrade to the tone feature and I traded in my old set for a Classic 70 with tone and it only cost $50. Haven't had any issues at all. Oh yeah just so you know if you ever find yourself on the phone with the collar clinic up here in Michigan and they tell you just send in your system and a check for $150 and we will go thru your whole unit and send it back. Call the collar manufacturer first. They were telling me that on my Beagler XL that the transmitter had gone bad and that it needed a new circuit board sight unscene. A $14 dollar battery and 30 seconds of my time after calling TT with the problem and I was all set. Always call customer service before sending them out to another repair center...I also have friends that swear by there TT and there service. A friend bought a TT for his lab just before a trip to North Dakota. After charging the collar for the 14 hours it wouldn't turn on. We called TT and since we were leaving the next afternoon the overnighted the collar to our destination and let us wait until we returned to send in the original collar. TT will always get my business.

I have no loyalty to any Company after seeing what Corporate greed can do :angryfire:
Money is the bottom line. A Company should always be held to a standard, things can change, quality suffer and hard earned money is wasted/lost. I've seen Companies flip-flop on ideas and support, all for a dollar or the latest fad. Heck, I'm half scared to go to work each day with the new computer programs they have installed on controls (what you see isn't necessarily what you got/ hand isn't manual any more/ safety programs lock-up instead of runback) Technology has come along way but there are many grades of technology, some that are cheaper investments make the Company more money in the short run but they are essentially shooting themselves in the foot in the long run due to end product quality going down the hole... :mad2:

Most Companies have a customer/service number where you can wage complaints or troubles. Squeaky wheel gets the grease... ;) ... Kick-on

Like I said, I have both and the old ones are better, period, IMHO. :D So, what happened to their production line? I work as an engineer on a high tech production line and this could have been a run of bad parts in some of the newer product lines. Maybe an OEM that provided parts went under or changed their standard, etc. This could be a vendor, procurement problem or new technician problem. If TT listens and reponds it will help their long-term survival and repeat customer base. I am not giving up on TT. I think they make an excellent product but something has happened to the recipe. Hope it is just a lot problem or short term issue. Most likely they will correct the anomalies. There is just too much variance in the new EXP models.

Perhaps you should try being curtious to them. I wasn't getting any range out of my new tri-tronics unit. I called them and explained what was going on, and they sent me a new transmiter, and a pre-paid postage envelope to send the old one back. The new transmiter fixed the problem, and I will have to say everyone was very curtios and very helpful. But of course I was very courtious when explaining the problem I was having.

Sure you aren't a part of thier customer service ??? My problem and seems like most everyones is range
and the fact that one of my charging cradles got so hot that if I hadn't been home it could have caught
fire and BURNT my home down .

Now I don't expect the 1 mile range they promised / LIED worse than a slick treeing dog about , I
don't even need that much range but when my dogs go over the side of the strip and I can't touch
them then that's irritating . Give me 1/2 mile line of sight and I'll be more than happy but 500 -
600 feet :bash: .
