I generally use cedar shavings in their boxes and all my dogs have the purple cattle tags on their collars. No fleas or ticks around. Also spray around my pens with the Bayer tree and shrub spray as well. Works so far.

we use capstar usally when we bring in a female that is having pups. it really works. i think it cost around 2.75 a pill at the vet. the way i heard that it don't prevent fleas it is just to get them under control.. josh

That is right Josh. It only kills the adult fleas, not the eggs or larvae.

My vet just swithched me over to Vectra 3D . Frontline quit working this year for some reason. I also use fresh cedar bedding. My dogs had a few fleas, but that got rid of them.
Ivomec works too, but i have been using Iverheart Max for worming and didn't want to double up the Ivomec.
