I totally agree with the fact that rescue dogs and dogs from shelters cost way too much. There is no doubt about it. S.R Patch, I didn't realize you were from the area. Maybe we can run sometime. I assume you have Patch hounds. I've always wanted to see some Patch hounds run.

What the shelters and rescue groups charge is a bit high but they do it for a couple reasons. 1st off they charge that amount and on some dogs they don't have much in them but some dogs and cats come in and need alot more in medical than others. So it kinda offsets itself in the long run. They also charge those prices in the hopes of keeping them out of homes that can't afford them. Alot of times thats why they end up in shelters anyway.
Billi you mentioning getting good dogs from the pounds. My great grandfather use to get beagles from the pound in Muncie, In. I use to love going over there. He and I would go to the pound and see if they had any beagles. If they had any he'd load em up and we'd take em to the reservoir to see how they did. If they did well he'd keep em. If not we'd take em back to the pound. Seriously some of his best dogs came from the pound. Ahhhh good memories!
