A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
Now I see why when the DNR F&WL brought the gray wolf of Canada down and dumped them in on the native red wolf of Yellow Stone, they wiped the native red wolf of the US out.
A bigger badder animal.
I'm going back to using the 12 bore...I think the 20 ga. would just pee them off...

Yeah, from the gas line back to Trout Lake I dreamed I saw 30-40 deer every evening... ... I think Monte even has some imaginary close-up pictures of them...

No I never hunted them. I went to the U.P. hunting hare for a week twice. I think I saw 2 deer the whole time. They were very big bodied deer, but 1 deer a week?? I see so many here it is normalto see large groups of bucks in late summer of 6 or 8 bucks with velvet antlers out to their ears.
For those of you that get the wild TV channel They are showing this wolf and details of the hunt tonight.

Hunting Chronicles
There are some big wolves out here in Alberta and their population is really on the upswing. They are taking their toal on the elk, moose and deer.

It's hard to comprehend the size of these wolves until you see one up close. Saw one last spring, I thought it was a deer at first, same height. It was easily 3 times bigger than the beagles that were all around it
