just curious how much does frontline plus cost?

The Orscheln farm and home store had a 3 month pack for $45 and some change.Funny thing is it didn't matter if it was for 22 pound or 100 pound dog lol.Like someone said,get the one for bigger dos and split it.My 3 beagles stay inside most of the time and no way is momma gonna allow ticks.It's the best I've found.

I buy this spray at TSC for horses. It's called Bronco Gold. It works great. I just spray it on about once a week and never have any problems with fleas, ticks or anything else. A bottle cost about $7-$10 and I usually only go through two bottles a year. That's using it on about 5-6 dogs.

I picked up bio-spot for 60lb dog. Come three in a box. One = 60lb dog for one month

I haven't applied it yet. I"m going to draw up the entire liquid contents in a syringe and divide it by 3. My dogs wiegh around 20lbs a piece.

for a box of bio-spot it cost me $15.99 and I should be able to treat 9 dogs a month on it. Only I don't own that many dogs.

I'm gonna give it a try see how it works. Then I'll try something else.

This is where I buy frontline plus from http://www.pets-megastore.com.au/produc ... cts_id=208 Cheapest place I have found. I get a 6 month suply every summer. One packet is 4 cc's. I put 1 cc per dog behind the shoulder. So one packet takes care of 4 dogs for a month. so I can take care of my dogs through the summer with a six month supply easily. It WORKS!!! NO TICKS OR FLEES.

I also give 2/10 cc of ivomec in mouth every two weeks year round. Pregnant, not pregnant on puppies or not. Every two weeks.

if your area gets them as bad as ours around here there is nothing that will keep them 100% off the animal.
i can say all the recommended ways metioned i have done or do.

here is what i do,i should save this file cause i hate typeing all this everytime someone asks.

frontline plus is --i beleive(been 2 years since i bought any)is 9.9% fipronil(the active ingredient)and 8%methroprene

i found this stuff which is 9.1%fipronil--almost exactly the same strength called termidor sc.
after researching i found out that fipronil has been used since the early 80's as a termite pesticide and then used for pests on pets.
frontline when calculated out cost almost 200 a ounce and all it is -is fipronil
i buy this--i use 1/2 to 1 cc per beagle--fipronil has a wide safety margin so it isnt to bad to use a little to much-the only thing i noticed is it leaves a stain on the area for a couple days

thats is it---for 75 bucks i have enough to do my three dogs and my neighbors and even my buddies have taken some.i keep it in a dark cabinet and it works great

for those who want/like to use advantix products-the active ingredient is Imidacloprid ahnd again i think its around 10%.i have this which is twice as potent so i use only 1/2cc. i usually start the season off with this stuff and stop and switch to the fipronil

even with ear tags and useing frontline and even this stuff watered down to a 5% spray(this is weak biospot i spray onto them before i cut them loose sometimes as well as my boots for me)

just wondering what everyone uses to control ticks on their dogs. I'd like to start a good program with my dogs with something that I can apply on their coat that won't break the bank.

any good recommendations. I'd like to start real soon.

I've tried everything under the sun and this is the quickest easiest and cheapest all in one. I buy it for the bigger weight dogs because its the same price and you can divide it up this way you should be able to treat atleast 6 and maybe 9 with one box. I think its around $10 at walmart. I used to use the frontline but it'll break ya I decided to try this stuff for a month and it worked just as good. Been very happy with it and its easy to use. I also give a 1/2 cc of ivomec every 30 days to guard against heartworms and it'll knock of ticks within 48 hours.

In 2005, the EPA required Hartz Mountain Industries to cancel uses of several flea and tick products containing phenothrin that were linked to a range of adverse reactions, including hair loss, salivation, tremors, and numerous deaths in cats and kittens.

The cheapest and easiest. Some people will tell you it doesnt work but , It does. IVOMEC. I use Ivomec during the summer only and it takes care of fleas and ticks plus protects from heartworms and a few others.

I just started using it a couple years ago and I havent had any problems with it all maybe they got the problems ironed out. And as far as cats and kittens you're not supposed to use it on them so if someone was putting on cats thats their own fault.

Madcatter you hit the nail on the head on this. As far as having the problems worked out I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a vet that says "yeah use this cheap junk from Wally World, it may kill a few but yours should be ok by playing the percentages". I would never use Hartz anything because they have a horrible track record from the '80's up to today and I would hate to chance my hounds to save a few bucks. If you use it and have not had one die or suffer, then great, but I will never take that chance. Spend a few bucks and get a proven, safe, flea and tick medication. We did our kennel for $40 a month with Frontline+. I spend a lot more than that in dog food, shots, shavings, cleaning supplies, etc. and I think flea control as important as any of this.

those purple cow tags are the best i have ever used i had one a guy gave me to try i put it on a female then later bred her left the tag on her collar it kept the pen rid of flys in the middle of summer no ticks or fleas, last year i baught enough for all my dogs never did find a tick on any of them they work better than anything i have ever used jb
