Update 5/20/2010

Top notch folks at TT i must say they were very friendly. gave them the serial number off the collar peice. he ran the number and told me its from Jan 2008 he said that it seems we are boarderline on the warranty but he'll go ahead and cover it since its within 6month time frame.

He told me that i must of banged it or dropped it = transmitter. I kept my mouth shut didn't argue with him because he was going to cover it. but i haven't dropped that thing. i take care of it. i didn't bang it on nothing either. Not that i'm aware of anyhow. He said something broke loose what ever is in there the tiny wires or metal pieces that have to do with the dail up top and its sending the incorrect signal to the collar.

None the less he said I most likely will be getting a G3 unit in the mail if the tech can't fix it. He said that its hard for them to take the unit apart cause its water sealed.

I'll keep you posted

Tri-tronics has great customer service. After years of dealing with Sportdog and having nothing but contempt from their service department, I sold the Sportdog units and bought a Tri-Tronics. I had it about 2 weeks and had a dog get hit by a car. I called Tri-tronics and told them what happened and they are replacing the collar for $45. I know it's not free, but it was not their fault, it was my cat-chasing mut. Sure took the sting off of losing the dog and collar at the same time. Sure were a whole lot friendlier than the Sportdog folk.

i had this problem with the g2
i must have been one of the first with the problem
because it was a couple years ago and they told me it wasnt possable to shock when trying to tone
and had to send it in so they could see there self
in just a few days i had a brand new unit
and then something else happend to the new one they sent
and they sent me a new g3 the next time
i wasnt very impressed with the g2
but the g3 is nice
hats off the tt for there care about the customer

Update 6-7-2010

Just recieved a Brand New G3 unit from tri-tronics. They replaced my classic 70G2exp with a brand new G3. Even came with a new charger. However I no longer have warrenty on this unit. If it breaks I'll have to pay to get it fixed. Lets just hope i can get a couple years use out of it.

Tri-Tronics has top notch customer service.

I had a g2 exp that the warranty had been out for about 2 months the range droped to about ahundred yds. called TT they said they would take care of it .i sent it back they called and ask me send the recuever that came with the unit to themsaid they could not find anything wrong sent it they replaced it sent it all back it was just like it was when I sent it back so they had me send it back with all my collars.They replaced my g2 with anew g3 now every things great again.
