it would be rough for dogs and folks not used to Rattlesnakes. In Alabama it is no big deal for us. WE know where to be careful walking and how to be watchful.
The question I have is why turn loose rattlers and not Rat snakes or even better King snakes that eat rats and also rattlers but are not poisonous? That makes far more sense and would fit the bill better.
Turning loose poisonous snakes makes no sense.

at least they're just turning snakes loose and not hiring more game wardens, which is a bigger nuisance. The only thing they're good for are bullying people at the lake on a nice day and bugging good honest people that they don't feel threatened by. I've called them before when people were spotlighting deer on a farm across from me and they told me " if it wasn't my land they couldn't respond" but they will set and watch you with binoculors while you're pulling your kid on an inner tube for 30 minutes then check for fishing licenses and check your boat to make sure they're is no poles in their in case you might try when they leave. I have developed a bad taste for them and gov't all together, so I'm now like Phil Robertson " When I see green britches coming I'm gone"

Re: the wolves being released in areas. Unfortunately the coyote has only one natural predator. And that would be the wolf. Rock and a hard place.

Bev, I've missed you!
Some folks down here are running big dogs with their beagles. For those that are having Coyotes attacking their beagles, wonder if a Plott cross would work?
