I've owned a few of the Granppy line and have never had a kennel barker yet.
The worst I can remember was an Andy Clover Patches male my buddy owned. My buddy was in college at the time and didn't have time for the dog. He said he was going to let him go because he was a barker. I told him I would take him so after we ran hounds until 3:00 AM, I picked up the dog and headed home. I drove a hundred miles from Morristown, TN to Athens, TN. that dog never shut up. I wanted to stop at a rest area and change my wet clothes. However, when I pulled into a rest area, the dog was barking so loud, and since there were travelers sleeping in their cars, I decided to just drive on.
After arriving back home at 5:AM I put the dog in a kennel and went to bed. The barking started again. I got up and put the dog in a kennel with my other beagles and went back to bed. The barking resumed. I got up again and turned him loose in the yard then went back to bed. Immediately the barking resumed. I mentioned earlier that I am a light sleeper. I won't say what happened next but the barking stopped and I slept peacefully and uninterrupted.
Line That is Quiet in the Kennel

I've had dogs for years and the FC. Rabbit Ridge New York Knick dogs are the quietest I've had or seen. If one of mine are barking I had better get up and check it out. I've got neighbors with cats and I'm in a subdivision with a factory behind me with people going by and still no barking. About the only thing that will set them off is somebody that is real close. We've had phone trouble after a storm the last few days and Thursday I heard my female out of Knick bark and I knew to go see and the phone guy was in the backyard climbing a pole and was already very close begore any of them barked and only one then. I am also a very light sleeper and I tolerate NO barking not even at feeding time so it stops one way or another the dog only gets to choose to what degree of PERSUASION does it take to them to stop. It is 90 percent genetics.
