Heck, I am not judging a video. Besides, I know how to put a video together so you can cut, click, paste and make the worst dogs look like a million dollars. A clip is a hard way to judge a dog. You evidently wanted folks opinions because you asked..... and that is exactly what you got. I would take it with a grain of salt as it would be hard to tell what exactly is going on from a clip.

The tri with the scretch mouth was doing by far most of the work and most of the opening. Never saw it not in the lead or fighting for it. It likes the front for sure. The others were following it except on one of the other videos there was another tri that also did a lot of the work.

Nothing wrong with any of them, just maturing at different times and the age difference explains most of that.

I like the tri on the first video the best.

Bet it goes back to the old Bluecap breeding! Bluecap was tri, not bluetick.

Trust me the time thing is something I can relate to but I've found that it boils down to this. Pups need what pups need and each one of them is different. Some pups need more alone time or brace time and some do just fine being packed up right out of the gate........like I said they are all different. Where the trouble comes in is with us. You'll hear guys say if they can't handle pack pressure I don't want em. Or on the other side you'll hear someone say if they need solo time I'll give em all they need. There are pups that fall into both categories but it's up to us to decide which we want and/or are willing to work with. If you don't have the time and patience to solo or brace a pups that could benefit from it then you better only have 1 or 2 pups at a time and no more.......or don't hang on to pups that need that kind of attention. I've found I can have the best of intentions in the world but it boiled down to I had too many pups at one time and could do justice to none of them. They needed what I didn't have the time for and that taught me my own personal limits. We tend to lay blame on the dogs at times but the reality is we put our own limits on what we do and don't have time for............jobs, family, other hobbies, etc. It's not a slam to anyone but you have to know your limits or at least be able to learn them as you go along. It's not an exact science, it's just a learning thing.

Now as far as for your pups I'm here to say that if a few people on hear say they would benefit from some solo or brace time then you may want to heed their advice. If you don't have the time or can't take the time to do it that's ok, but those pups may or may not be their best in the end because of it. You could end up with some me too-ers that have trouble running a rabbit on their own...........and you may not.....like I said it's just advice. Instead of taking all of them out 3-4 days a week they may be better in the end if you mix it up with 2 here and there a couple of those days and then save one day to take em all out. I know it's hard to imagine but in the end it may make them better off. Like I said it's just advice from some experienced beaglers trying to help after seeing a video.............you asked so don't take offense to it. And I always tell people if you don't wanna hear the truth you better not ask the question..............at least not to me. If you just wanted a rah-rah session then maybe say that when you ask next time.

I agree the tri dog was doing most of the work. As far as limited time. I hear you. Thats why I only try to start and work with 1 or 2 pups at a time. But thats just me. I would not leave your better pups at home but I would split the time afield running the pups by the 1or2 more advanced pup running together and the pups that are not doing much work together this way they are forced to work and run their own rabbit. Thts just my opinion. Growing up I remember my brother in law and his brothers and uncles buying pups and letting the pups start and keep running with the older dogs and never gave them any solo time. Every once in a blue moon one of these pups would just rise to the top in the pack and run well, But most of those pups, far more turned into me too dogs, They never really contributed much to the pack because they nver learned to run a rabbit and work a check on their own. One older dog or two would do everything then one day their two dogs either died or were 2 old to even walk and they were stuck with the rest of the pack of dogs that ran like crap. Couldn't run a rabbit with out a check every 30yards. 'Thts just my opinion, I could be wrong. Hell I think I'm wrong more times then I am correct but its how I feel. Good luck to you...........Deerhost

now thats what i am talking about...some good honest opinions!!!...THANKS!!!!...i can see all of your points...i guess i will try to split the time up a bit...but i just cant get over the fact that...while doing this...somebody has to stay home or stay in the truck!!!...and they all need time!!...but i can see some advantages to doing this!!!...thanks again guys!!!
