Rich Laird was one of the funniest people I ever met, lol. Humor funny. And I believe the dog was Smokes Creek Sammy, but for the life of me I can't remember the name of Fred's little female. It was one of those days that was so hot and dry that the tighter the mouth on the dog, the better chance of winning. A lot of dogs got disqualified that day for not producing a rabbit within the alloted time.

Well Bev you got our names right but not who was whom...Dick Laird never says a word..i am the semi funny guy in our duo I did own Sammy who took runner up that day. The other dog jumped the only rabbit and Sammy ran it for about a 1/2 hour without a scorable check...the judges even told me that the little dog that jumped the rabbit was 20 to 30 yards back the entire run. Sammy was brutally fast and had a great nose. Those were some awesome times and I always had fun. Thanks for the memories.. Bill damiano :D .

Anyone remember the Old birdhunters club which was a 2 story house, the year at the world it rained so hard everyone got stuck and Donnie Gibson pulled out everyone with the big 4wd John Deere. Bill Bredimier was master of hounds- Great Hunt.Randy Eades was still alive and the hunt ran like a clock.

That yr Randy Eades judged my hound in the opens! It was the first time I had ever met Randy Eades and he was a good judge. He called out every checks ,strike, and jump minus and etc. I was second or third in the cast and he done an outstanding job. He was a nice guy too! I dont think it was too long after that he past away.

Who remembers the huge rock that sit outside the bird hunters club house. It had a hole in the middle of it. I remember chip eisenhut selling tracking collars nobody really knew much about them. Chip told earl Bruner I believe to hide that collar anywhere and he would find it so earl hid it in that rock and chip went rite to it I think he sold a lot of tracking systems that day lol

Jimmie, remember when we used to threaten to organize a fun-run cookout in southern Indiana for message board members? My idea was to set down packs of like style, and everybody is the judge. They would come back and vote on what they thought was the best dog of the day by dropping a little piece of paper into a hat. Dog in each group with most votes wins. And I think people could be honest in admitting that perhaps their dog wasn't the best on the ground that day, because there's nothing at stake really, other than maybe a steak and a cold beer amongst friends.
