I bought Spade from Bobby Vest and kept him for about 6 months before I sold him to Mark and Jeff Brown. I sold him because I didn't have anything to run with him. He was gutting my dogs every time out. He was just too much dog for me. I like running a pack and I could only solo him. I have a dog now that is very fast, but there is no way he could run with Spade in Indiana or any place for that matter for very long. If you have a beagle (no matter what the size) that can wear Spade down and stay with him or in front of him for very long, then I will shake your hand and congratulate you. I don't believe for one second that you do. If this little challenge ever happens I will be there and will put up an additional 500.00 on Mason's offer. Good luck and put up or shut up!

Never said he was the best dog in the world. Spade is a hard hitting rough hound. On nip tucking rabbits there are hounds that will eat him up day in day out. On a running rabbit he is tough as nails, he will stretch a pack to the breaking point. He swings cuts reaches what ever but he will go from Point A (the jump) to Point B (shooting opportunity) quickly. So fast is fast no matter how he is doing it. He wins more than he looses as far as trialing. Id venture to guess he has put it on 500+ different hounds in the last two years from trialing, fun running or just plain gun hunting.
Dawgy said he doesnt have any bottom (runs out of gas after an hour). Ive gun hunted with him two seasons ago, he was as good at six hours as he was the first and he was as good the sixth hour of the third day as he was the first hour of the first day.
Ill never believe the dog ran out of gas after the 1st hour. If he did then I would question his health. I dont know who owns him know and I have not ran with him or seen him run in two years but will still back him.
Like I said if you have put it on him count yourself lucky. But getting on here and saying the hound has no bottom is not the truth. If you dont think so lets do this and you guys can make some easy money. We want to see good hounds no matter whos they are. So this will be a bargain either way by saving on phone bills, gas bills and time finding good hounds.

The dogs are doing great. We aren't getting out as much as we want, but that's always the case.
Spade's record speaks for itself and anyone that thinks any dog can't be beaten in a one hour cast is probably a little inexperienced. Sometimes a dog can really look good for an hour, but leave them on the ground for 3 or 4 hours and see what happens. Do that for 6 to 8 hours and then you have a true test of skill and endurance. Any dog that is conditioned on cottontail that can handle spade for that amount of time is one hell of a dog. I just don't think they are out there. Dogs conditioned on hare may be able to handle him in the long haul, but send him up there for a month and run him on hare and then I would bet there are very few that could handle him anywhere.

wow 3499 viewers. bob & paul how about this one i was out feeding my dogs i walked over to jared the super handlers house to see if his hounds had been feed&watered they had not so i feed & watered them even spade here the good part i called him and told him he said he all ready had done it now the snow has been on the ground atleast 24hours but no tracks leading to the kennel must be magic

pine mt i own the bitch that ran 48hrs now i did not see it she was at cliffs pen in indiana he had no reason to lie about it he said the only hound to run longer was a hound something big ben as for the casey big male leave a number i would like to see him just like any other bloodline there are good ones and bad.
All I got to say about spade is: He lives right now down by me and I'm glad he has moved up to champion. He spanked everything I had in the open class in three hunts. Usually runs 20 to 30 yards in front of all dogs down here, doesn't matter to him if it's uphill, downhill or amazon jungle, he is going there if the rabbit went there. Unreal tough dog, looked like he would eat alot of rabbits if given the chance, if the rabbit lines out in the open, he will have it for a meal, that fast!! Never knew about the dog before mid. 05, he is for real right now. dboman

Thats who I want running my dawgs , no feed and water its so cold up here you know theyre using everything up just fightin the cold. His mom aint gonna go out there , you even fed Spade , now see boys true houndsmen here respect is what we show , not bashing dawgs or people . One young man named jERAD STARTED ALL THIS cRAP by saying he's gonna whip us , how could he whip us if he cant feed em . Spade could have been weak from no feed , who knows , thanks Carl for checkin on em I thought that was him with the red collar on .

You may have put on spade i aint doubting ya , remember i do know you
But day in and day out spade is 100% heart , since he left ky i can not speak for him. He has always put it on us down here and by the post , i beleive that several people think highly of him , day in and day out nice dog no doubt . Pine mtn dogs do bring bottom end as well as heart to the table . Is spade rough? Thats what is winning aint it ? Will and i call him sea biscut for a reason . I dont see any reason for bets and such but to say things about others dogs , that aint gonna work eiether ... Touchy subject . c ya around bob
