I have just started using Victor in the red bag.
It's the 24/20. What kind do you use & how do you like it ?

I been used that red bag for around 2 yrs. Dogs like it and all seem's to do very well on it . I was feeding Sportsmans Pride until I couldn't get it so made the change , I feed less and not much clean up . One other thing I see is it looks the same every bag , some others looks different each bag . $31.50 including tax a bag here.

I've tried about everything it seems, always went back to diamond naturals ( 26/16) , then I tried Victor , very good feed ! I feed the 26/18 blend with good results,I sometimes in winter mix it with the Diamond Extreme athlete , dogs love it and look great, but I believe Victor is good stuff overall

I did a cost analysis with Victor, Pride, Diamond, and Purina. Based on price and Protien/fat (24/20 and 24/12) I found Diamond to be the best bang for your $$$$.

50 lbs bag Hi Energy 24/20 for $28.99 AT TSC
40 lbs bag Maint 24/12 for 25.99 at TSC

50 lbs bag Hi Energy 24/20 for $28.99 AT Menards
40 lbs bag Maint 24/12 for 25.99 at Menards

50lbs bag Hi Energy 24/120 for $24.99 at Rural King
50lbs bag Maint 24/12 for $26.99 at Rural King

Rural King:

TSC:
http://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/search/diamond/
Menards:
https://www.menards.com/main/search.htm ... iamond+Pet
Menards, TSC, and Rural King carry Diamond.

I feed 1.5 cup a day, and a raw egg twice a week.

I feed Hi Energy when I'm running, and Maintenance during the summer when they are in the kennel.

Well I know they can all have issue's and I know some will disagree but I just can not trust Diamond , it's just me . What was it in the last 4 or 5 years they had 2 issue's of tainted feed and the 1st time seemed to me they tried to hide it several dogs died . I've never used it.
Also I don't understand the price breakdown you listed , really it's more the cost per bag u listed :
High Engery 24/20 50# $25.99
Maintenance 24/12 50# $29.99
why or how is the maint. feed that's lower in fat , same in protein more $$ , seems back asswards to me.
Victor cost me $1.27 a pound I feed little less than a cup in summer months and 1 to 1-1/4 cup in the cold months and really my dogs are a bit to fat IMO.
As I always said feed what you like that keeps ur hounds the way u want them , but feed the best u can afford. Are dogs worth that .

I feed the yellow bag victor. My dogs love it and does good for them. My Akc inspector complimented how my hounds look and wanted to know what they eat. He went to my feed store and purchased some for his German Shepherds.

Victor dog food is A1 in my book. I feed the red bag and dogs look great and run great. I feed less and have to clean up less. It is a win win but I pay $35 for a 40lb bag.

I'm down to 3 bags of Hi Energy, if I can find Victor at a decent price I would switch over. Everything I have looked at, and everyone I have talked too all recommend Victor. But, considering I'm living in Columbus and my local feed stores are jacking the prices up on it, its more convenient for me to just hit my local Menards, or TSC for Diamond. So, I hoping that TSC or Menards pick up Victor here soon!!!!!!

I guess I'm being cheap a little too, I don't like paying over $30 for a bag of 40lbs. I'm taking my kennel down to 4 dogs over the next couple of weeks, so I might just have to suck this one up.

Please keep the post going because Victor has been a really hot topic at my house for a few weeks.

Jim,

I been feeding Victor for three years now, I feed the blue bag I believe it's 23/11. Great feed and good stools. I double feed when they are running a lot or when it's winter outside.
