Is it tick cold

So I've read a week of well below freezing will kill ticks. I've also read it won't. Was just wondering since we have consistently been below 17 for a couple weeks and down to -5 what are your thoughts as to if it may have a impact on the tick population? Can't remember how long it's been this cool outside without at least one day of relief, it's coming, but warmer temps are still a few days away.

I was afraid of that, someone told me they should be wiped out with this cold weather. I doubted the info so I was reading up on it online and read both outcomes of dying off and not dying off with the weather. I figured some guys up north who experience cool weather every year would have a response. I can't remember a winter we had below 20 for a high for over 3 weeks so I thought I would ask.
Thanks

Moose are dying in the north country in the middle of winter and are covered in ticks.Friend who lives up there told me they have found where the moose have rubbed themselves raw in places cause of the ticks.Doesn't sound like the cold affects that variety anyways.

Wishful thinking!
We have no shortage of ticks here and it's -0 nearly every night.
My friend Budd lives in northern MN and deals with -40 temps on a regular basis, he's contracted Lymes 2 or 3 times himself much less his hounds.
