First sign of parvo or distemper...

Post by S.R.Patch »

Young Coon going in circles stumbling, out in the just planted bean field at the heat of day, 90f. First sick one I've seen this year but it usually shows up when June comes.
Ticks are so bad, now make sure your pups or young hounds are vaccinated against the killer virus.
Stay cool, and we pick the strawberries early and late in the day, a good crop this year.... :chef:

Just ordered another box of vaccinations from Lamberts Vet for the pups. Killed another young sick coon, there's so many coon and possum around the farm, without the hunters and trappers to keep them in check, the populations have exploded. They come up to the kennels at night looking for food the hounds might have spilled. Saw 3 fox pups exploring along the woods edge, no doubt the pox will affect them also before it's over. Lots of young will die until the numbers are thinned and the immunity is strong in the remaining herd.
