Which Stud or Line of hounds?

Post by Guest »

If a guy was wanting some serious hunt who would be the stud to use or what line of hounds to look at. A non-stop go getter!

For Hunt I would say Pine mtn Chester(sock it to me/Northway), Mikermas Super Dog(otterbrook). Everything that I have seen out of thse two will hunt it's butt off. As far as lines go I would say Northway if you like a medium fast to fast hound. If you found a good stud out of Turbo Powered by prop you should get a lot of hunt also.

The Kingwood bloodline is a great jump hound line and hard search. Also Mt. State hounds are hard hunters.

Try Matt Smedleys dog.It is bred very well and hunts non stop every time out.One of the nicest dogs out there today. He runs as well as he hunts.Matts number is 419-347-4152.The dogs name is Frenchmans Max.You will not go wrong with this dog.

I have a hound out of a SuperDog bitch that is a hunting machine - non-stop all day long. Not afraid of briars - or anything for that matter. He is a very focused dog - determined to jumped the rabbit and then determined to run the hair off of it!

I and several others have had very good luck with hounds out of Blazing Trails Blue Smoke. To best of my knowledge Smoke has probably bred 12 to 16 females. The majority of his litters has been 5 to 7 pups. Out of all the litters I can only think of two pups that should've been culled. The rest hit the ground hunting. The majority of folks that have bred to Smoke have been non-trialers therefore not many people know of him. However out of the offspring of his that are being trialed, they win or place on a consistant basis.

I'd put Smoke's hunting ability against any male around. And best yet his pups hunt just as hard as Smoke does. Not only that, but offspring out of Smoke's littermates follow suit. An abundance of Hunt and Desire is trait that's definitely prevalent in this line of hounds that are descendants of IFC Taylor's Sock It To Me, IFC Able's East Coast Trimmer, Camp Creek Gertrude, and FTC Kingwood Shorty bred hounds.

Bob,
take a ride up here and I'll bring Woody out against your Ranger Dan male. At 9 years old I'll guarantee that the old man will out hunt and out run him.
