is that when you or your dogs get publically complimented you might get 1 or 2 calls or emails asking about your kennel and wanting to see your stud dog run...but WOW! when you get slammed (usually) with untrue info, the phone rings off the hook from people wanting pups or guys calling to laugh with you about what guest  said what. its a strange world we live in and i think i finally am getting the hang of it. heck i even got slammed on another board tonite because some bonehead dont like my signature on here...lol. some guys need to learn how to laugh  . the world is a fun place if you let it be.

Amen to that Brian. I almost wish someone would start slamming my dogs for me.

You and I'll have to get together some day and see if we can't do some sort of cross. I believe your line would compliment my hounds quite nicely. Keep up the good work Blackdirt.

I have learned a few things on these boards as well. It seems if you have a web page and make a lot of posts people think you know lots about hounds and must have good hounds. I have learned there is an naive audience out there. Blackdirt this is not to knock you or your hounds because I don't know enough about them to say and I wouldn't knock peoples hounds. I make quite a few post on the various boards. I could sell a lot of hound and very few people have seen my hounds.
I have also learned that lots of people that are consistently breeding good hounds don't post on these boards.I am not saying that people on these boards don't produce good hounds, I am saying is there are lots of good breeders that don't post. You have to do your homework.

So your saying you wouldn't swap pups with a guy to see what kind of dogs he ran? That way you could have the chance to train them yourself, the way you like them. Then you could rest assured that if there was something wrong with the dog, you could eliminate the training equation out of it.

I have a very small, select group of people that I get dogs through. Whether or not they come to the boards is irrelevant to me. I know the dogs they have and like them. That's why I continue with them. However, I have been interested in the Bramlett blood for a couple years or better now, so what would it hurt for me to take a chance and trade a pup out? I wouldn't be out of a thing, except for my time.
If Brian decided he didn't like his dog or I decide I didn't like my dog, we could always trade back or give the other first option to buy the dog back or ????
I like trying different dogs. That's how the oldtimers came up with lines anyway. They would blend dogs for the traits that they wanted and low and behold over time, they had their own line.

Each to their own I guess.

james - i think a swap would be a good idea. we'd both get a well bred young pup to train as we like and see how they fit in our packs. i like to linebreed moderately close , so a pup from you if it turns out well would give me a nice outcross for the future and the same would go for you. you'll have to shoot me an email sometime and we'll figure it out. im pretty sure im gonna breed TOM to CRAZY LADY this spring. something for you to think about.

Farwest, once again I knew your motives. Your entire first post, albeit disguised to be a benign post was another attempt to take a jab at Black dirt. I know it, you know it, Brian knows it and everyone else that frequents here and RHO know it. So your right, Buddy, you didn't say anything about swapping, but you sure were rambling on about a guy making a bunch of posts and having a website thinks he's great, really suckers people into his greatness, yada yada yada. You're a broken record.

I would like to see these type of posts wiped out! I come here to learn more about beagles and other houndsmen and houndswoman, not to waste my time with posts like this that are meant to down another beagler. It is my opinion that if you have to down another beagler or his dogs, the real motive is to try to make yourself feel better about yourself or your own dogs. I am not taking sides, I just would like these guys to take this someplace else. And as far as the TO ME hounds, thats all I own and and proud of them!
