what does anyone recommend for flea control?

I use frontline spray on the dog and borax and sevin to treat the kennel and yard. I also remove the bedding and organic material once the weather gets warm. Put down borax (20 mule team detergent) and water it in if you have dirt runs. Prevention is the key to flea control but be careful to not poison your hounds!

Bio Spot,it works the best of anything I've tried except dipping. Get it a FOSTER &SMITH web site pretty cheap.

Have used 20 Mule Team Borax Washing Detergent(clothes type in green box) for over 10 years. No fleas and no poisons here during that time

I like to dip my dogs in a good strong dip. Instead of using borax, I like to use agriculture lime around my kennels. It is very cheap and can be found at all garden centers and farm supply stores. I will state that using plastic barrels for dog houses helps keep down the fleas. A wooden dog house is a flea magnet. You can never get rid of all of them.

I use seven dust. it has the same ingredents in it as the flea powder that people use. i put it in there bedding and on the dogs. you can get it at any farm store. plus fleas hate cedder. i put it in the dog box with the seven dust. and i don't have any flea problems. also the vet told me to do this. you can get the cedder chips at wal-mart or tractor supple or any pet store. they usally come in big bells. what i mean is they are about the size of a bell of hay, and they only cost 5 to 6 dollars a bell, and the seven dust is very cheap also. hope this helps.

REVOLUTION it's a cream you put between the dogs shoulders and rub it in. This stuff does fleas, ticks, heartworm and a few other things. It takes about an hour to absorb into the skin and you apply it once a month. Ask your vet they should be able to hook you up.

Hi Folks , Just wanted to say if you have access to ceder logs/poles,you can easily make high quality [better than they sell] ceder shavings . cut logs/ poles lengthwise with a chainsaw,makes nice long ceder shavings . cut crosswise and you only get sawdust . Been making my own for years ,shure beats what i find for sale. hope it helps someone. jack-
