I used to feed Diamond, but after an incident this last fall/winter, I will never feed it again. I switched over to Black Gold and am really happy with it.

when i can find it, i use Sportmix 26/18. ive used Black Gold, Diamond, various Purina, River Run and a few others, but Sportmix is as good and usually better than everything else i used and there is very little waste and the price is around $17 for 50#.

Been through most the brands listed above and always had loose stool or something. I swithed to the Pzazz around 8 months ago and the dogs look good and have hard stool always.

like Sexton but always had trouble getting it.
Pride was not real digestable to my dogs for some reason.
Black gold was to high.

To be completely honest i would to say i had the best results with just plain old ( Dog Chow and Joy) but the cost is terrible $16-$22 for 50 lbs.

I pay $13.25 for the black bag of Pzazz

Diamond, I have one dog on Science Diet to see if any differance. I will say Science diet has almost 2x the kcal that diamond has so price wise it isn't much more expensive. I'm just not convinced there's anything wrong with the diamond 26/18 so doing my own reseach.

Diamond 24/20 is what I feed now. I've heard some people have had bad luck with Diamond. So far for my money it's the best I've fed. Only draw back is the smell of the waste. But hey crap isn't suppose to smell like roses.

In the past I've fed the following
Nunn Better 26/18 and Sportmix 26/18, which if you look at the ingredients are basically the same dog food. NB was $1 cheaper a bag though.

Purina Hi-Energy = Crap! Dogs Had No Energy On It!
High Standard = See Purina

The Pride 26/18 is working real fine for us. 3 to 4 buck cheaper than Black Gold.

I was using Diamond 24/20 and my dogs did well on it and the stools were alittle loose and large. I tried the 26/18 green bag Diamond and the stools were the same but their coats were rough so I got off that and went back to the 24/20. I found this website on this board or miller's board someone put up http://www.wayeh.com/feedingtrial/index.htlm itgoes through a bunch of different feeds and lists main ingredients and coat and stool conditions from each feed I found it to be right on with the Diamond brand. I swithched from 24/20 to 30/20 and the stools were less and the dogs coats were better. With the weather warming up I'm slowly swithching over to Diamond's lamb & rice 23/14 for the summer which is suppose to give little stool and nice coats and once we get back to the colder hunting season I'll go to the 30/20 again. I can't remember the site but it talked about feeding alot of protein and most people think it's bad but they said a dog is built to eat more protein than you could get out of bagged food so people shouldn't be afraid of feeding a high protein food espeacially to a working dog. So if I have a problem with the Lamb &Rice I'll just go to the Diamond 30/20 for the summer. My dogs are an investment I'm not going to skimp on food for them, I don't for my family either. Healthier they are the less trips to the vet for me.JMO

I had some bad experiences with Diamond 24/20 (maroon bag) and I switched to Diamond 26/18 (green bag) and have been satisfied since. I've tried Purina, Pride, Black Gold, and a host of others and have never really been satisfied except with Diamond 26/18.
