i would like to compile a list of patch dogs that have made rabbit champion and at what registry they did so in how can i go about thaT anbody here knows of any give me a shout .. sonme kinda search or something be great!PATCH RULES!---LOL .. but not alot of patches are trialed i dont know why.

I consider it a blessing in disguise. I count 109 yrs. since the Patches were first registered by Randall, thirty-five of these years since his passing. I give that credit to the Patch men who still hunt the hare and hold the hounds they breed to a standard. Over these many years, field trial fads have come and gone and with them many good lines(families) of hounds. It's hard not to get caught up in the "red letter" breeding scheme once you get into competition. The tendency is to "stuff" as many titles into a pedigree as you can and this will surely cause the pups to be born with more red on them. The problem being, no trial test for the complete hound and most traits not required or tested for are lost over time. When these "red letter" hounds are brought together and they share a common weakness in the traits that make a good rabbit dog but were not necessary to be shown for the "title", you begin breeding incomplete hounds that don't suit the hunter. Now, I'm not saying field trial hounds are not good rabbit hounds, but you see where the danger lies in producing a lot of worthless rabbit dogs. Have you ever been to a kennel and heard the owner say, "these" are my field trial hounds, and "those" are the hounds we rabbit hunt with". Shouldn't they be one in the same?
Randall was all for putting hounds in competition, to compare his best to what others had. I think Patch Rusty Lazy Acres was the last one they tried to champion before Randall passed, but you can bet, he was proven a complete rabbit hound before he was entered into competition and this is as it should be ...Patch

I know there are others as well. I know Plowboy has championed out some Patch bred dogs and I have seen there is one I believe he bred in the ARHA LP Hall of Fame! It's on the ARHA website under LP. Hopefully Plowboy will see this and add his input.

I have a male dog that is LP Rabbit Champion. Fort Run Hoss is his name. He is out of RCH Daughtons Mt. Patch Betty owned by Gary Daughton. Jim Campbell has had a couple of champions also.

There are two in the ARHA Little Pack Hall of Fame both owned by Tim Seaton " Plowboy's Janie Jenkins" "Loundon Ridge Judy" " Barefoot King Patch" was Grand Champion and If I'm not mistaken some of Bredemeir breeding goes back to him (Sadie and Diamond Ring). I have judge several Champions owned by Mike Gamble, and Bo Stakely thata re also patch breed.

Are you asking for all Patch or hounds that also have patch in their breeding?
Blaze Patch was Sadie's great grandfather twice on the bitch side, Maggie, the rest was Pearson Creek. Her sire, Echo Prince was Pleasant Run & Pearson Creek breeding.

Diamond Ring III had no patch breeding, more Pearson Creek & Pleasant Run.

I always wondered after Mr. Bredemeier told me King Patch improved his pups so much, as to why he never went back on the Patch again with his later breedings...
So, King Patch was a cross of Patch X Pearson Creek breeding that nicked well for him and from there on, the Bredemeier hounds were more focused on the Pearson Creek X Pleasant Run breeding...

I have to agree with you on king. Something there worked i owned several very close to king and Zing out of the breedemeier. I always figured the nose and line control from the Bredemeier dogs came from the Pearson influence outcross. None of any of the other Patch or atleast as much patch as you could actually call them i had showed the line control or nose so i deducted it came from the Pearson.

I crossed several of the Bredemeier bred dogs i owned to my patches but sad to say never once got offspring that was at least the equal of either parent.

Little Bill told me his best nick was when a young pup climbed the fence and the next day, he found a young Apache, tied to his Dunn's Little Red bitch...lol
After that, you couldn't get a place in line for a pup from that cross...

J B I sure thought that you had more champions than that. Holly,
Teka, and Pip were not champions? How about Lakota Faith, Cimeron
Abigal, and Lakota Teaspoon? Hammerin' Brewster Patch, Emmy Lou
Patch, Don's Katie Cooper, Don's Buckeye and Dohn's Highland Star?
Some of these if not all should have been trialed and made champions.
I know that Plowboy has a duel champion in ARHA with Plowboy's Pache
Rhonda. She has won in both the field and on the bench. I believe I
have a female here that Plowboy has told me she has produced four
champions and two grand champions but don't know their names. I am
sure that Plowboy could ad a few names to the list. I know that Mike
Yates Trackdown Swamper was a champion as I have seen a picture of
Mr. Yates and Swamper holding the plaque for being the winner of an
AKC State Hunt in Mississippi. The whole Patch line was built on Willet's
Champion Patch ( AKC name Forrest Patch). Not sure how many
generations he bred back to Champion Patch but he said he went for
17 generations and never breed outside his line. S R Patch could probably
straighten me out on this but this is what I have read in the old Hounds
and Hunting Magazines. I am sure that there are many more Patch's
that Randall made champions out of and I know that a friend of his, Ralph
Butz, once made a challenge of $1,000.00 to any man that owned four
hounds that could beat four of his patch hounds and never had a taker.
Don't know that the Patch hounds today would go up for this type of challenge but I would hope that one day they will again.
