here is the write up and pictures of my boy this past weekend.
THIS SET UP THE MUCH ANTICIPATED MATCHUP WITH THE TULSA OILERS AND WHAT A GAME IT WAS. HUNTER W. PITCHED 6 SOLID INNINGS ONLY ALLOWING 1 HIT BUT THAT STILL LEFT THE DOMINATORS TRAILING IN THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE 6TH 1-0. DAVID T. CAME UP WITH A HUGE HIT SETTING UP THE DRAMA THAT TRANSPIRED SENDING HUNTER WOOD TO THE PLATE WITH 2 OUTS AND THE TYING RUN ON BASE AND HE BEING THE WINNING RUN. THE FIRST PITCH HE JUST MISSED IT FOULING IT STRAIGHT BACK. THE NEXT PITCH WAS NOT MISSED HOWEVER AS IT LEFT THE YARD IN A HURRY AND 265-275 FEET LATER THE DOMINATORS HAD WON 2-1 WITH THE WALKOFF HOMER. THIS WAS A BIG WIN FOR US HEADING INTO KANSAS CITY WITH SOME MOMENTUM

Who is Hunters favorite player? Couldnt help buy notice he wore 44...Hank Aaron, Reggie Jackson, Derek Jeter....and Hunter Wood
He must be a heck of a ballplayer. Congrats to him!

pretty neat how the number worked out but it wasnt for any of those reason's, he picked it cause that is the number of the race car that I pit for. lol
He is pretty special to me, he is mine from a previous marriage and he lives with me, and his mom isnt in the picture and hasnt been for 2 or 3 years.
The coaches of the other teams he has pitched against all say he is an amazing kid.
His batting average is 520
his on base is over 700
and his slugging is 800
has over 30 some stolen bases
he has been at bat over 60 times this year so far and has struck out only 3 times, he has over 40 some strike outs on his pitching record and is throwing from 60 to 65 mph at 11 yrs old.
His goal is to make it to the big leagues, and I am behind him all the way.
Sorry guys but I have to brag on him.

What I want to know is who is the second tallest guy there with the bird legs and the sunglasses on his cap (where they don't do you a bit of good)?

What a great post Swing. The joy, pride, and love you have for your boy are so evident. You do know he'll grow up and leave some day don't you?

Cherish him while you can. Although my own boy is now grown up and leads his own life, my greatest times are still when we are together. Though they aren't very frequent, one of them is every fall when we meet at the deer camp. I usually arrive the day before he does but around the time I know he'll be arriving I keep one eye out the back window looking for his headlights. I then sneak out through the sleeping quarters to the back door and wait for him to come in with all his stuff. It starts as a handshake but becomes a big old hug. Keep involved with him and he'll always want to be involved with you.

Man Swing im real happy for you. Those pics are awesome and priceless. I went to high school with Pat Hentgen who won the A.L. cy young award in 1996. Its neat to see people you know on T.V. and making millions of dollars. Hopefully the kid makes it big. Lucky for him he has a great dad. Keep us posted. Hunter now has a fan in Michigan.

HEY SWING, MET YOU AT THE WORLD HUNT, I'M ANOTHER PIKE CO. BOY. JUST WANTED SAY THAT I CAN RELATE TO THE PRIDE I HEAR IN YOU FOR YOUR SON. I COACHED MY SON FROM LITTLE LEAGUE ON UP THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL. HE WAS A PRETTY DECENT PLAYER BUT HE WAS A CATCHER. GOOD ARM BUT NO CONTROL, BUT ANYWAY HE IS A TEACHER AND A COACH NOW AND HE REMINDS ME ALL OF THE TIME HOW MUCH HE APPRECIATES ME KEEPING HIM IN SPORTS, I CAN SEE YOU ARE DOING THE SAME WITH YOUR SON. HE LOOKS LIKE A REAL ATHLETE. ADMIRE YOU MUCH, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. KEEP US INFORMED ON HIS PROGRESS.
