Depends on the area.
Sometimes they leave the country and some times like in the city they will just run the circles like a rabbit but bigger. Because they have no where to go.
But you should be able to tell the dog is running alot harder and more consistant than normall.

Anthony, the experience that I have had with beagles and coyotes is that if one beagle goes into the proximity of more than one coyote the beagle gets eaten. I know that beagles will run coyotes, but I believe that it is a pack vs. solo coyote chase. I would conclude that the hound may be running grey fox. Just my opinion on that, since I lost one to a pack of coyotes two years ago this month. In eastern Ky, coyotes have no fear of being run by beagles.

I bred a beagle that would not only run a coyote but would flat out nail one. This was a cross of a Larsen X Lilly Creek ( Yea Bob it was a pup from Cyrus ) Actually shot a coyote over this dog after it circled. Catch a lone coyote away from the pack and it can be ran by beagles. Better be close if it turns and fight or have several gritty dogs. This is not recommended

This dog grew up running around his owners farm and we are not really how he developed such a hatred for coyotes. If ya dont belive ask ole DaMan Beagles about Ivans bluetick Shiloh .
