I took my pup out last week for the first time and she opened on three tracks it was great, unfortunatly she didn't jump any. I would like to find a pen to give her a little boost. I live in Marion Ohio.

Doesn't sound like your pup needs a training pen. If he/she is already opening on track and working the line, you have cleared the toughest hurdle. Keep doing what your donig, and have PATIENCE, don't hurry or pressure the pup. Sounds like you have a good one, good luck.

Thanks Mike,
I just know when she sees a rabbit for the first time she'll go nuts.
By the way I took her out fridayand once again she ran a track checked by my old dog but she still hasn't seen a rabbit. She ran a track about 300 yards by herself the first time out. This time only 100 yards then lost it in thick cover.

your pup will have a sight chase soon enough, did you know their are some old fox hounds out their that run all day and night, and have never seen a fox in lives.

Thanks for the advise again I have taken her twice since we talked last and the last time she ran rabbits for 3 hrs. Still has not jumped one she opens to soon on track for that. She seems to get better each time. Man is she mouthy I'm not sure if that is good or not? She barks every step on a hot track. Both the other beagles that I have owned would only bark if they seen one.

sounds like a top gun dog, and future field champion to me. Solo time will help, and improve chance of a sight chase as well.
