We took out 3 dogs this evening. We were hunting on a power line. They jumped a rabbit and was just burning it up. They ran it in one circle then they started on the 2nd circle. Half way through my dog started coming towards us while the other dogs kept going. All 3 hounds were barking. I was wondering what in the world she was doing. Then she took off running around in circles howling just 2 or 3 times like she howls in her pen. She had her tail tucked like something was hurting her or something. She took off down the hollow. We looked for her until dark and went home and found out that the neighbor found her. She was about a half a mile away from where we seen her last. What could have happened?

I have seen it in a few Young Hounds that get stressed out,and I had one that would do it about once a month, and carried Him to the Vet,and the Vet Put Him on some pills, and told me that His blood cells where out of Balance, and the Pills worked, and so far so good.

I've heard two senarios like this before. Both hunters think the power lines triggered their dog's shock collar.

dark i was thinking the same thing,,,,,,,monday morning i was running beagles around the power lines,,,,,,i had one collar with me for a young dog in case of deer,,,,,he has never ran any but who knows, i never put the collar on him just threw it in my vest pocket, while under the lines the collar was humming in my pocket,,,,,,,,,not saying this is what happened but i do know on some of the older tri tronics like the judge, cb's will set them off when you key the mic,,,,,,,but id check for whelps and swelled places,,,,,,,

Well I know it wasn't yellow jackets or hornets. I looked her over real good and there was no swelling at all anywhere.
