Randy, and Shanon, sorry to here about Yalls lose,I have never heard of a Dog dieing from a ear infection,When I have one that has a ear problems,I use a blue cleansing solution 3 days in a row,and it will clear up,It could have been a bad reaction to the antibotics that the vet gave Him. Terry

Gosh, I am so sorry to hear this. :(
The only two thoughts that crossed my mind were
a.) a tumor
b.) a bad reaction to the antibiotic injection.

Did you call the vet and ask him? Actually maybe you'd be better off calling a different vet for an unbiased opinion, if thats possible from a vet.....

Sorry to hear about your dog. I have been reading various places on the internet because of things that come up with my dogs. My guess is an allergic reaction to the antibiotic. An autopsy would show what happened but I imagine it is too late for that. Yeast (black gunk in ears) does not respond very well to antibiotics especially system wide use. It responds better to diet change and natural cleaning. Over use of antibiotics causes all kinds of problems including death. My one dog is shedding methecillin resistant Staph aurus MRSA right now. That bacteria is transmitted from HUMANS to dogs. We just wait it out, test the humans in her circle and see what happens. There seems to be more and more of these problems. My heart is mourning for you. Carolyn

Sorry to hear about your loss. It never hit me as to how attached my son, my wife, and myself had become to Jack (my sons first b-day gift from me) and after nearly 7 years once he was gone it was just like a true member of the family died. Thinking I may have taken not just him but all my dogs for granted now I make sure every afternoon at feeding time I spend a little more time with each of them and as crazy as it sounds just like my son done with his Jack, I carry on a small conversation with them cause you just never know when they wont be around anymore.

Hey everyone....Thanks for the kind words. Its been a long week in our household. BlueJack......I like to spend time "visiting" with my dogs, sure wish they lived longer! My wife feeds 2 times a day and spends atleast an hour each time with them dogs, man she loves them more than she does me, and Moe was pretty special to her. I have a special bond with all my dogs as well........they dont have to hunt all day to live here, when I get a dog it usually dies here, and man its hard on a guy. I will never get use to it. I take time most everyday to go out and say hi to my old boy Ranger.....I know he dont have a lot of time left and thats gonna rip me apart when something happens to that old dog. He has taught me more than I ever taught him. Anyhow.......thanks everyone and you all take care.

Randy
