PKC Small Pack Hunt X 2!!!
Everyone,
There have been two PKC Small Pack format hunts scheduled in Indiana in April. Both hunts will be "Try One" hunts, which means that the owner/handler does not have to be a PKC member nor does the dog have to be PKC registered. Everyone can go to one "Try One" before having to become a member of PKC. If you do decide to attend and not join, IF your dog makes the winners pack, the money that you win will not go towards any championship degree for the dog. PKC registrations and PKC membership will be available at the hunts.
HUNT # 1: Bear Creek Beagle Club in Cross Plains, Indiana on Saturday April 12, 2003. The entry fee is $25 and entries close at 7:00am. There will be a $200 added purse at this hunt. Bear Creek is a brand new beagle club in SouthEastern Indiana, but have been a long time PKC Coonhunters Club.
HUNT # 2: WildCat Beagle Club in Mulberry, Indiana on Saturday April 19, 2003. The entry fee is also $25 and the entries close at 7:00am.
If you have any questions or need directions to either club feel free to contact me. These are the first two "small pack" format hunts since the very first PKC Beagle event last May and both clubs look forward to many more. Please come out and support both of these clubs and try out the new PKC Small Pack Beagle Format. If you like ARHA Little Pack, then you will fit right in with this format, but instead of taking home a trophy you can take home some cash.
Any questions or comments feel free to contact me!

PKC Hunts in Tenn
Bowhunter,
Right now there aren't any scheduled in Tenn. but if you would be interested or know of a club that might be interested, have them contact me and I can help them out with what they need. I talked with Steve Fielder from PKC last week and he said that he is getting calls every week with people wanting information on these hunts. Hopefully with some time and effort we can get more clubs to offer these hunts.
The club house in Cross Plains is within one hour of the Ohio line and the Kentucky line, so feel free to jump in the truck and come up and check us out, this hunt has a $200 added purse.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have about having a hunt and I would be glad to help!

Aaron,
Hope to see you there, pass the word around to those that might not have a computer. The hunts should come out in the magazine next month (April) and hopefully everyone will get it before the hunt dates. We need the support or I might not be able to talk the club into trying anymore hunts, we have some members that aren't totally for it anyway, but with time and some effort it should be just fine and hopefully another avenue to take in trailing beagles.
I see where you have back to back hunts this weekend in Ill. (H&H format). I took a copy of the H&H rules to work today to study up on them. Myself and a buddy or two might swing over and give that format a try, so never know I might see you this weekend.

Currently compete in ARHA LITTLE PACK....Don't know wheather my dogs would fit your format or not...Run against Mikey at Prime Time. I hope that before the hunt you will pass along the direction to the clubgrounds. April 12th is one week after the World Hunt just down the road from you. Don't know if I can stand two straight weekends in southern Ind
Best of luck with the hunt....Bring one to OHIO.

Directions to PKC Hunts
Jim,
The directions to the clubhouse will be in the Rabbit Hunter magazine next months (April) issue. But in case you don't have the magazine by then, I will be glad to send you the directions. I will have to check on the time difference for you and let you know. I thought they were on the same time, but I will check. Yes, the Mulberry hunt will be held at Camp Collum, not sure if we will be in the front or the back building.
Arrow,
The rules are suppose to be coming out on http://www.prohound.com
but as of now they are not. If you would send me your address, I would be glad to send you one of the copies of the rules that I have here or you can contact Steve Fielder at PKC for a copy. I can't remember which month it was in but the Rabbit Hunter carried the rules for both formats.
Hopefully in time and with some clubs stepping up to the plate and holding a hunt, PKC will take off and there will be more hunts available in all areas. As far as your dogs go, if they run Little Pack style hunts now then they would fit in at a PKC Small Pack, only thing is PKC doesn't have classes (Open, Champ, or Grand) all dogs run against whoever they roll out against and best dog wins.
The directions will be printed for both clubs in the magazine next month, but I would be glad to pass them on if needed before hand.
Jim and Arrow,
Thanks for the interest, hope to see you both at the hunts. If your club or a club near you is interested in holding a hunt, I would be glad to help get it together for you. Let me know if I can be of any help.

PKC HUNTS
Fellow Beaglers,
We are just a month away from the first date that we have set for our hunts and we have received quite a bit of interest. If I can be of any help let me know. Come and check PKC Beagling For Bucks out and see if it is for you. The first hunt at Cross Plains has a two hundred dollar added purse, so a lucky hunter could possibly take home a few hundred dollars for their effort. Come on out and join the fun!!!
