Indian Hill Line

Have a question about the Indian Hill's Line and just want opinions and observations about the line regarding deer. I don't know anything about the line and don't trial, so I don't get to see many dogs. From what I read they seem to be a real good line and just want more input. Thanks

I HAVE GOT INDIAN HILLS BLOOD IN MY KENNEL AND HAVE, HAD SINCE I'VE BEEN BEAGLING. I HAVE NEVER HAD ONE RUN A DEER ON ME. THIS LINE HAS GOOD HUNT GOOD LINE CONTROL THEY ARE VERY INTELEGENT HOUNDS THE ONLY THING I WISH MY HOUNDS HAD WERE A LITTLE MORE FOOT. I WOULD RECOMEND THIS BLOODLINE TO ANYONE THAT IS JUST GETTING STARTED.

The reason I'm asking is because I'm looking for a line that might pan out for Mid-West, since they have a club near me. Also thinking about the New City and New Country lines.

Indian Hills blood lines do well in the Mid-West.

I've seen Indian Hills Banjo run over the last couple of years and have been impressed with him. He lacks a little bit of foot but he had been hit by a truck and has residual effects from that so I assume his lack of foot is from the accident. Even with his lack of foot he was High Male last year in the 15" class in the Mid-West.

The conformation in that line isn't impressive to me but if you just want to run a dog in the Mid-West and do well, I think that line would do that for you.

Anyone have any suggestions about a good line that can be used for midwest trials or contact information for other kennels would be appreciated.

I agree with Tim H. Banjo is one good hound, I was so impressed with him I bought a female pup sired by him. She is now 9 months old,running well and showing lots of promise. Paul is keeping a male and he is starting to come on too. He still has two males out of this litter that should make good dogs, Paul just doesnt have time to start them all. I have a male that is out of Indian Hills Trapper that does pretty good. He can run the line good and has plenty foot behind him. There are a few dogs out there that can beat him across the line but most of the time I don't sweat it. I'll be honest in the hot summer heat he doesn't like to hunt that much but he hunts really well in the cooler months. I have never tried to break him off deer and he has NEVER sighted chased or scented a deer yet....NEVER. As far as looks he is currently in the UKC top ten so he must look halfway descent...he isn't the greatest hound out there but he must do something right sometimes because he is already a UKC GRCH HBCH. I like what I have seen out of this line...I have seen a few Indian Hills dogs run but not all of them. As for my hound, yes he could be better, but he is only 2yrs old and has alot of time to mature into a better hound...hopefully.

My pup has never ran deer before. You CAN'T run any of your hounds with a deer runner or your asking for PROBLEMS. Indian Hills hounds are some good hounds with plenty of smarts.If you have a deer runner SHOOT it NOW are look out all your hounds may leave one day and never return.
