It is with a heavy heart that I post this. Suzy was killed today by a car at Logan Hubble in Stanford. The kids just drove on. I was unfortunate that one of the passengers, a girl, minutes earlier at the basketball goals I heard her say "shoot the puppies" as the dogs worked a check by where the teenagers played basketball. I could tell the whole story but no need too, I almost feel it was intentiontal. I am just happy no other dogs were killed mine or anybody elses.
If you have ever owned one of those hounds that always tried to please their owner, always, handled like a dream, never new what quit was she was one of those. She was barely two and we had spent so many hours together, the heat, the cold, the rain and the snow. She loved from 4 1/2 months old, you couldn't wear her down. The man that started her and her brother still to this day says he has never started two like them. Of course she wasn't perfect. But she sure tried to be.
She was UKC CH HBCH always fighting against the boys and loving it. The guys who ran against her will tell you she loved it! A few weeks she won the Midwest Gundog Association 13" Derby Runoff on Saturday and on Sunday won the 13" female class with 2 FC, several dogs with 2 wins and 1 win running. We were ready for Central KY on Friday. Would she have ever have made FC, I'll never know but she will always be one in my book. Dogs with her temperment, style and class don't come along everyday. Thanks to Greg Martin for giving me the opportunity to own such a fine hound. Oh girl I'm going to miss ya!
