Guys I have a male out of this dog that I bought from my buddy at 6 weeks old. I see that he died at a young age what happened to him and what was his running style. Was he a jump dog or a check dog. Was he fast or Medium speed. Any info would be apprectiated. On my web site Venom is that dog I have that is out of him. Thanks in advance,
Danny

I spoke to Mike once about Ace and he said he had to
have him put down due to his kidneys failing.

I emailed mike once about him. He never answered my email. Not sure why he may just be to busy.

Those dogs have a reputation for being pretty fast and probably a little rough too.

my my heresay norwester
John Moynihan [sp] owned and finished the dog in Canada
I have no contact info but ya could try beaglescanada.com
From what I saw he was clean med speed could get caught up in some bad stuff but I had a few of them myself. We were forced to run with a bag of dirt at the time and the competative males sometimes believed the babbling bag of dirt ahhhhhhh L&S monk

Hey Monk, I wasnt referring to Ace himself as I certainly have no knowledge of him, heresay or otherwise, however it is my understanding that Jack's hounds tend to be fast and rough, ie; drifting, swinging, skirting, slashing, cutting, cheating, etc, etc ;) and used that to help give an idea of some of the traits that MAY be in Ace's bloodline. It's not meant to be a slam on Ace or Jack or any of Jacks dogs.

Ace was not owned by Jack for starters , like Monk said he was owned by John Moynihan. Those traits seem to pop up more with the training then the bloodline.

Certainly some of what contributes to how a hound runs can be attributed to its training, but a good deal of it is bred in. Ya cant teach a hound to run a faster track or a slower one in my opinion, they are what they are and likewise I think that most often the hounds that are real rough would be like that no matter how they are trained. Like begets like, a slow or medium, clean, smooth, line running hound down from the same is more likely to throw those traits than hounds bred down from rough, front running, heads up, speedy types. Nothing wrong with either one to my mind, just different horses for different courses.

I realize that Ace may not have been owned by Jack but he was decended from Jacks stuff wasnt he? If not then I stand completely corrected.

The Shaker stuff i've seen has been pretty controlled for the amount of foot they've displayed.

The Beagle On Fox crowd LOVES the Shaker dogs and can't get enough of them!
