I'm thinking about starting a web-site for Stud dogs, don't have all the facts yet but was wondering who might be interested in something like this, and do you guys think we need something like this?? There are alot of nice hounds that get over- looked because no one knows they are out there. Please give me feed back on this topic. I feel that this could help the beagling world a little. Might even keep some of the old blood lines around a little longer.
Thanks,
Tim w

When choosing a stud dog the more info we can gather the better. I would like to see a stud dog site. Dan M

Sounds like a good idea Tim. Maybe set it up like a message board where folks could post their own dogs rather than you or your webmaster having to post for them. Only catch make it where they can post, but no one can reply to the posts. That way you safe the stud owners from having to worry about someone badmouthing their dogs. If someone was interested in breeding to the dog that person could just email or call the stud dog owner.

This is a real good idea. That was the next part of my we site that I was going to try; setting the dogs up by state. When I was looking for a stud dog I didn't think I could find what I was looking for and then by accident I did. There are a lot of good dogs throwing good rabbit dogs that you don't hear about.
I hope you get more than just the well knowen field champs.

I would like to see one where the people that breed to the stud are listed as references in order to follow how the off-spring turn out.
A dogs record as a producer needs to be out there for future potential breeders to analyze not just a sugar coated ad from the owner & his hunting buddy bragging him up.
Good Luck,
Plowboy

How do you think it should be done?
Fuzz had a good idea about a Forum type with no input about dogs
Would you break it down like:
Branko breeding
Blue Back breeding
Etc.
By state?

The reference thing is a good idea. I imagine the stud owner could post references if they wished. My only concern about let someone else comment on the stud on the board is that you'll get a few jealous folks out there that will want to post and badmouth the dog.
We all have seen it in on dogs for sale and pups for sale ads... someone not involved whatsoever just wanting to cause trouble.
As for breaking it down studs by state, I suppose that's doable. All would depend on how many folks add their dogs.
