How many Vets visit this site on a regular basis? What years and what Branch of service. Shoot, I may have served with some of you.

I am just a "youngun" and don't really consider myself a vet. Have been in the WV Army Nat Guard since 1997. Served in Iraq from Jan 2004 to Jan 2005. I proudly wear the uniform every day for my job also. My hat is off especially to those who fought the foreign wars before me but I have great respect to all who have worn or wear the uniform!!

If you were on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

Army, 1969 to 1971, 1 year in Vietnam. I admire all who ever put on a uniform. Some where treated better than others but over all a vet has alot of pride.

Joined the Naval Reserves in the 10th grade in hopes of becoming a navy jet pilot. You know how young kids are; they foolishly think they can do anything they set their minds to. Following high school, I left my first beagle behind and went to college and the NROTC program. I finished college with no car, no money and not much else... but... I finally had those orders to flight school! My Mom traded in her green stamp books to get me a suitcase for the trip to Pensacola and she gave me $60 to live on until I got my first pay check. (Base pay for a brown bar in '67 was $300/month). Three years later, I was flying A-7 Corsair II's over North and South Vietnam and Laos. We were flying from the USS Oriskany. After 25 years and tours in Japan, Guantanamo Bay, The Netherlands, Florida, Texas, California, Washington, D.C., and numerous aircraft carriers, I retired back to Missouri. It was a great life.... a little rough sometimes but still great. There'll be no more flying for me but then running hounds nearly every day ain't that shabby.
To my fellow veterans on the forum... Thanks for your service and I'm glad you're also safely back home running your hounds.

Enlisted in the Minnesota Air National Guard in 1998:
133rd Airlift Wing
Commisioned in 2004:
Currently a C-130 pilot for the 109th AS MNANG

Love every minute of it and get plenty of sandbox time. My hat is off to all the young men and women that we shuttle in and out. We couldn't get anything without them.
