sportsmans pride dog food
thinking of switching feed Purina has went up around here it costs me $26.00 plus one $7.00 pro club check for a 37.5lb bag that make it $33.00 a bag thats nearly $1.00 a pound .
Anyone ever feed sportsmans pride and how did you like it. how did the dogs do on it energy, waste, skin coat, ext. any other feed sugestions also welcome.

I wish I could still get it. I have never had healthier dogs then when I was feeding Sportsmans Pride. Every hunt I went to someone would ask me what I was feeding. The coat stays shiny, their energy is outstanding, little waste and I was getting it cheap. Nothing else I've tried has come close to the results and yet it isn't the most expensive food.

I've been feeding Sportsman Pride for 7 years now and have been very pleased. Dogs hold weight, coats are shiny and stool output is small.
It is not the easiest food to get or find. Our local feed Mill gets it in for me and they have opened up some sales generated by it being a great feed.
My running buddy feeds the Hunter's Pride RED bag 26/18 also made by Sunshine Mills, a little cheaper per bag, coats not as shiny but other than that a very good feed as well.
Good luck with your decision.

We feed Sportsman Pride 26/18 won't feed anything else unless the well dries up ! Which it has but I've talked a dealer into getting it for me as he sells other Sunshine Mills feed. Shiny coats , clear eyes , small stool .It's got Omaga 3 + lots of other vitiams and minerals. Darn good feed , I switched from Pro Plan when Nestle's bought Purina out cause I felt the quality droped some and I aint sorry a bit.

Sportsmans Pride is all we feed. yellow bag in summer and higher protein in cold weather.
Get compliments on dogs coats and looks.
Stamina is never a problem.
Seens they stay trim on it better too.
We feed in automatic feeders in summer and none get fat, and eat much less than in cold weather.
I highly recommend it!

I have fed Hunter's Special which is very similar to Sportsman's Pride. I now feed Hi Standard. My dogs seem to gain a little more weight on the Hi Standard. I have also fed Purina. The Hunter's Special is far superior to Purina. I've fed 5 or 6 different feeds in the last 3 years, I've only fed one that was worse than Purina. Just my $.02
