Bev or anyone else from central Indiana. There was a little red and white female that ran arha that was just an awesome dog. When I say little she was little in size, had a huge mouth and could tear up a track. I saw her run in Waynetown and she was all that. Don't know her name or owner but remember she was awesome.

I have heard a lot about Run Em Over Tank. Anyone ever see him run,and how does/did he stack up against the PP and LP hounds we are seeing now? My opinion is that we are in a sort of "golden age" of really good hounds with good foot AND big noses, which is a rarity, with hounds like Jimmie Abshire's and Perkins's, to name just a couple. Of course, with the good comes the bad, and there will always be breeding to inferior females to just get pups from big names (not from the aforementioned names, as they are breeding vor the betterment of the breed). Seems like as the best get better, the worse get "worser." I haven't seen many of the mentioned hounds run, as I don't get out of Pike Co. much, but I would have loved to have seen Cody's Sharp Jackson run, as Lynn Perkins had some really excellent things to say about him even as he competed in old age. I understand that he reproduced as he was, too, which seems to be a symbol of greatness as well.

1.Codys Sharp Jackson...Went to grands twice, thanks gerald bailey :moon: ....Never seen such a hound before or after unless it was my second pick.
2.Codys Sharp Mikie...He could catch more on the run than most hunters could kill very uncanny skill.
3.Waits Ky Amy... Tougher tha a 10$ jawbreaker. The most beautiful mouth i ever heard in my life, ask ol sammy wells , he went probaly 0-5 when bomb was young. One of the nicest hounds god ever created, she lost a eye and never came back. :(
4.Perkins Run n Gun Buzzsaw. He needs no intro , pure grit times 10. God i wish he could have been trialed akc....
5.Abshires Junie.. People can say and hate but outhunt and out check most anydog i run against. Clean running and killer mouth, Meaner than a snake, but his offspring is very well tempered.Probaly would be a akc finished hound if he had not whipped the pack in winners circle at wurtland trial.Get away from the hole its a trick.....LoL.
6.HH War Bonnent....Badazz hound seen her get a screwing like no other.
Thats when grade hounds ruled, It was at the world i honestly felt bad for the owner but especially the hound, she gave it all.
7.Swartz Big Time ... When cast were 2 hours long he would kill packs, the longer the stronger he got incredible stamina.
Anyway dogs i would have liked to seen. Mountain Man, he had to be tuff too good of a reproducer. Marivics Blue Ninja...Viagra....Primetime..Chimer...Crains HH brownie b4 my time just missed him.The list goes on and on , Dreamboat and Showboat I aint heard nothing but great about each..This typing brings back great memories. Anyway .jmho

1. GRC World Champion Smith's Weedeater Tramp -- Jump dog deluxe, she would go behind other dogs and jump rabbits they would pass by. Could run a track like she was tied to it.

2. GRC Perkins' Run N Gun Buzz Saw -- Gun dog supreme, like Jimbo said pure grit.

3. FC Hanks Sugarcamp Driver -- Big nose, track dog. Saw him destroy dogs on 90 degree days and run a rabbit like he was tied to it.

4. GRC Turbo Blue Lucy Lou -- 13" bitch who thinks she is 16". I handled her at the 05 Little World and watched her stage one of the biggest comebacks in a trial I have seen. Down 90 to 0 in 5 min and come back in the next 55 min with only one other dog scoring one check. UNBELIEVABLE!!

5. FC Brent's Primetime -- Watched him run when he got his 2nd win at South Ky trial before he finished. Big nose, strong driving dog that could control a big pack of males.

6. LPGRC World Champion Abshire's Leree RD Jew Knee -- Hard hittin' male with no quit. Huge mouth, hard nosed, run to catch style with control.

There are several others I could go on and name......These are some that come to mind.

Thanks Ken Asbury , Mack was and still is the best hound I ever saw run a rabbit and I have seen a lot of the big name hounds in AKC , ARHA and several from UKC and PKC World Champions. He was out of Rch Satsuma Buck x Sangamon Ridge Fredericka Buck was a son of FC Satsuma Mack . not far behind was 2 grade males I owned that I paid $100 a piece for back in 1994. Rch Herring's Smoking Bandit ( Smokey ) , Rch Herring's Color Me bad ( Porky ) their younger sister Rch Herring's Pretty Girl which I gave $75 for . I didn't know much about state hunts , world hunts etc when I had them I was new to ARHA and I didn't have any AKC hounds. these 2 big males could have won at any level no doubt .

First let me start by saying for my style preference this is my list. Characteristics I value, very close in check, moving as quick as the track allows, very focused and not overly competitive to forget the task at hand(running the rabbit!!), as quickly back to the point of loss as you lose it, nose with the brain to shut up when not in scent that is runnable, and what I call the total package type dog(good in the kennel as well). These dogs aren't in any particular order all VERY nice hounds, NONE are perfect, but I don't think the perfect hound exists.....

Mt. State Blue Bud, Green Bay Butkus, Sally (owned by Chad Curran and Ryan Enslen, not sure her full name, REALLY liked her!!), Green Bay Walkon, Whitney Creek Captain Jack, Shooters Page 2, Green Bay Hail Mary, Green Bay Million Dollar Baby...

Yes you see a few with the same name...they are what I personally like...maybe not the fastest or the flashiest, but pure rabbit dogs. Under the gun first and all did okay in the trials as well.
