Anyone in Northern MI, know if the snowshoes have started turning white yet? Heading up for a hunt this weekend and just curious as to what color hares I will hopefully be shooting at.

Should be getting snow, last heard 4-8 inches, temps 15-25 degs, hare mottled to white w/ dark trim to their garb. Next week looks to be steady cold temps, so snow should should stay and build.
Making a couple pots of soup to take along chilli/veg...
If the wind will behave should be a great time...

Nick,
While up in Wis last week for deer hunting, I saw a variety of colors in the snowshoe. Everything from almost no white to completely white, all within a couple hundred yards of each other. I would assume that northern Michigan would be about the same, maybe more white the farther north you go.
Good luck with your rabbit hunting this year, sorry I can't be a little closer so we can go run dogs again.

3 - 5 inches of fresh snow? Dang Patch, that's as good as it gets. The dogs should be able to run heads up and full speed in that stuff
We're supposed to get 6 - 12 inces here. I'll be out in it. Good luck and be safe driving in this stuff.

LOL Tom, I"ve no doubt they'll try...
I've seen some amazing things happen on a stiff windy day, but my worry is, loosing them and them loosing each other. The snow and cold is all good but it's the wind I curse.
So with the added snow we're looking at 9-17 inches, better bring some of that steak to feed'um...

...their gona get hungry...

Patch, just remember to walk with your toes up and you should be fine in snowshoes. But your muscles on your shins will be sore!
Good luck fellas!
