For some reason this year I have aquired to many males in my kennel, but when I go through and decide some have to go, I try to pick eanie, meanie, miney, but there is no moe. I have too many hounds but have a hard time parting with them even at the higher food prices. Actually the price of fuel is harder to bare than the food bill!!!!!

of all beagle expenses , feed is about the least.

1) Price of gas

2) fewer rabbits, fewer places to run

3) Tired of cullin

Did I say price of gas :???:

I have two less dogs right now than I have had in at least the last 4-5 years -one old hound passed and a young one didnt make the cut, I have no immediate plans on picking up any dogs simply because I want to put all the hours I can on the ones here and go from there. The price of feed has not had a direct impact on how many I am keeping but time has.

Working dogs deserve a good diet. Hounds are different than just pets, they work for their meals and without a good one you cannot expect good performance.
Buddy, how many dogs do you have now ?
Remember I had just 3... now I have 5 and 2 pups on the way and another coming from kentucky !!

My kennel has grown and its because I still have pups left from the last litter. I have never had trouble selling pups before, but this year I think people are not as well off as in years past and they are not buying pups. Sure seems to be alot of good blood on the boards that are not moving like in years past :???:
