I had one of my young dogs out with the my pack today and got a surprise. While I was watching 2 of my older dogs working some brush piles in front of me I heard the gravelly chop of my 10 month old female behind me, as luck would have it none of my older dogs was close to her at the time to check her for me. I turned around and saw a doe come barreling out of the thick stuff my pup was in, assuming the worst I got my tri-tronics ready for some serious zapping as soon as she broke cover. Instead I saw a rabbit heading out of the same thicket with Blondie right in behind it . I'm glad I waited to zap her
You can bet I sure petted her up and praised her after the race was over.

well she was probably after the deer till the rabbit got in the way lol....

back when we had coon hounds[25 yearsago] the way I used a shocking collar was drive the roads until what ever I though the dog was running[deer,fox,rabbit,etc]crossed the road then dump on it then hit them if they run it. that way i was sure of what they were running

Congrats Bunny Jumper. I know how you feel. I have a 7 1/2 month old right now that I am really happy with so far. Makes me feel like a proud Pappa to see her workin in there with the big dogs and doing good.

them rabbits can mess up a good deer race......................

I felt bad for doubting her, but I've learned over the years to keep a close eye on my young dogs. With the deer being so plentiful around here I usually try and keep a tri-tronics on my younger dogs and am particular what I let them run with until they settle in.

This is my pup out of ol'Dot and Plowboys Bossman. I have high hopes for her seasoning into a good'un. She has awesome hunt, decent line, good speed, and making several jumps on her own now. I had been letting her run solo and with my ol' grade dog and just recently started letting her run with my older Patch dogs.

I'm glad that rabbit jumped in front of her and messed that deer race up . You know how these ol'Patch hounds are I had to do a double take at the doe as she was running off to make sure that was actually a white flag and not my dog behind her
