Wow, that wood grain has some beautiful figure to it. I really like the butt cap as well. Looks like you are outlining a place to do some checkering!

The Cap and fore end piece that I did not get in pic are both rosewood and I found this piece of wood in Oregon

American Walnut with as much fiddleback as I could find at the time. I must admit that I never saw it all in the blank. The more we cut the more I got.

What kind of finish and how many coats did you use? We finished some heavily figured walnut at the shop with high gloss lacquer about a month ago. It will jump out at you.

10 or 12 coats so far and a ton of sanding. Will probably get 4 to 6 more with alot of sanding and rubbing.
I will have to check the name brand of the finish.

Thanks for the offer, but I just got back from a 6 day stay at Mon General. This pnemonia is gonna have me down for a bit.
Who would believe 3 times in the hospital in one year.
I will make it over to see you and Raymond soon though.

Ed that sure is some nice looking wood on that gun, i have never seen anything like that!!!
