‘Slow Feet” by AlSwamper

As the beagle hounds were drifting through
The lazy sway of the trees,
He saw the look in their eyes, blowing the leaves,
Seeing what they wanted to see.
Al, don’t say a word, cause I already heard
What your beagles are saying to mine.
“I’m tired of fast moves, I’ve got a slow groove,
On my mind.”

Swamper wants a beagle with the slow feet,
That takes an hour just to cross the street,
That runs all day in a pile of brush,
And cold trails like it’s in a heated rush.
Al wants a beagle that will understand,
When it comes to rabbits, run ‘em slow man.

On shadowed ground, with rabbits all around
And Al stretched out in his chair,
They run ‘em all night and never leave sight,
With Rowdy in front by a hair.

Cause Al wants a beagle with the slow feet.
Al wants a beagle with an easy touch.
He wants a beagle that will spend some time
And hunt all day in a pile of brush.
He’s got beagles that understand.
When it comes to rabbits, run ‘em slow man.

Bowhunter59 sings and plays by ear. But he's been playing a lot lately and his ear is sore. As soon as it heals, he's going to put this to music.

Ted, You never cease to amaze me with your talents. Ol' Swamper has to fight hard for any respect.

I heard someone's four dogs ran off after a deer lately?

Hope they've been found if that story is true !

Swamper,
I appreciate your concern and offer to retaliate, but there is no need. You see this was final payback for all those times you have associated me with Bowhunter59, called my dogs culls, and harrassed me in general. I consider us even. Any retalitory effort on your part would result in my having to re-retaliate. I will see if I can keep Bowhunter from putting this to music if you desire. Peace!! :moon:

Well Ted, I sang that song to Rowdy and the boys yesterday morning on the way to the field. Took my 4 males and Rowdy had that look in his eye when I let him out. Running was good for about an hour and I almost witnessed them run one down. They was flat out running that bunny. Gave him all he wanted for about 45 minutes and then he hit a brush pile. After that it got hot. Caught Scout and listened to Jack solo one for about an hour while Rowdy and Kalagha ran another one. I still can't figure out how they got seperated though. Together one minute, two races the next. They done that twice as a matter of fact, one early on the first rabbit ( the one they almost caught) and then on the second rabbit. They have never done that and they eventually got back together on the first one but not the second one.
