I was wondering how many of you guys have bred a 15" male to a 13" female? Did your females have any problems having her pups? Is there a greater chance of her not being able to have them? Any info would be helpful.

In my limited experience, 15" to 13" breeding is not that great of a disparity to cause any birthing issues normally. The reason being that most beagle pups are approximately the same size when born.

The issue would probably be more severe if you bred 2 dogs from 2 different size breeds. For instance, breeding a male coonhound to a 13" female beagle would produce a greater risk of birthing issues.

Just my $.02 worth....

I used to have a nice 17" male that was my main stud and ive breed him to some pretty small females 12 to 13" and never had any problems. Another funny thing to add i raised 18 pups from this dog and never once did one go over the 15" mark. he was one heck of a stud dog.
