78 degrees one day 6 inches of snow the next

Missouri weather is getting pretty weird lately.

Sunday we had a high of 78 degrees. I went running the dogs and it got pretty hot quick. They pounded a rabbit for just over an hour or so. I took them home and all they did was lay out in the sun all day long. I guess they needed it. It has been very cold this past month so they liked the warm sun on them.

Today we are supposed to get an inch of sleet then it will turn to snow by tuesday. 6-10 inches is what they are calling for. Then cold temps to follow. So snow will stay on the grasstop for a bit.

I will be going from running dogs in almost 80 degree weather one weekend to running on snow the next.

If you ask me craaaaaazy Missouri weather.

It's like that EVERYWHERE, not just in Missouri! It's just as crazy here in WV. Today the hi is supposed to be 70+ with blue skies and sunshine, then tomorrow rain and snow and below freezing. No wonder people are sick all the time with colds and the flu and stuff  It's a good thing spring is just a few weeks away

But just think how adaptable your hounds will become to "change"...

We had 60's yesterday and took a good walk. Found dead birds lieing everywhere, only saw 3 deer and this was deer heaven where we live...

What's up Done Gone Beagles

They weren't running that mink wissel were they????????

I ran saturday for 4 hours over in Ill. Oh boy did we find rabbits. Last time I went I saw coyotes and no rabbits and we had snow and ice on the ground.

But this time no snow and rabbits everywhere. They got a rabbit going 5 minutes off the tailgate. They chased that sucker for over 2 hours. The rabbit kept going around and around and around in a fairly small circle. All the dogs were in the chase. Daisy's tail was all bloody and nasty looking when we left for home. Leah was hauling azz after that rabbit leading every once and a while. Over all it was good running.

Sunday I didn't stay to long because I got up late and it was hot by the time we got there. We stayed a couple hours and went home. They ran pretty good even though it was a little warm and dry out.

I got to use my new Tri Tronics shock collar. I got that Lisa dog under control now. I gave her a shock on number 2 and found her under the truck. I walked over to the truck and she came up so glad to see me tail a wagging and all. So later on I just toned her and who shows up Lisa. Easy and simple just like that. Pisol on the other hand is still being alittle difficult. I don't want to shock him to much. But I let him know it's there. I did Tone Tone shock Tone Tone Shock. After that I didn't want to push him to much. I just used the tone and kept calling him in and he finally showed up. Baby steps I guess.

Guys I know what your saying about the weather. Up here in northern Missouri we have either ice or snow every week between the 60 or 70 degree days. We did miss this last big storm and hope you guys keep it down there in Jefferson County. Talked to a big cattle farmer last night and he said because of this crazy weather he has had more calves dying this year then he can remember. Talking about coyotes , We are getting alot of Bobcats up here. Never ever seen many around up here in Northern Missouri and now its nothing to see one. I think if the conservation wants to save the quail and rabbit population they are going to have to do something about the hawks and owls.

We haven't had a flake of snow hit the ground this morning, and the yahoo's that control the school have decided to cancel school. What a bunch of bozo's. Go south about 30 min, and they have 5-8 inches, but we don't have a thing.....

Well the snow storm is over. We got alot. The drive home from work was pretty wild. I couldn't see but 100 yards in front of me. One lane open just in the center and all the cars single line following each other driving about 20mph. Snow plows couldn't keep up with the snow falling. When I left work I took a tape measure and it read 6inches of snow and still falling. Totals ranged from 4-11in the st. louis area. Biggest snow storm in a while. It was fun...

I live in Beeton, Ontario and am sick to death of snow. It is coming down again today like crazy. It was warm on Sunday and back to cold Monday. My furnace has been acting up for the last two weeks and I have been working on baseboard and electric heaters. I am tired of being cold. No furnace since Monday at 7 am. Parts coming from Windsor and service installation maybe tonight except we are having this storm.... Enough already, where is spring?

Close to 3 feet of snow here, warmed up Sunday to above freezing, rained for awhile then turned to snow again. Tried to run a young hound yesterday, with soft crust under and about 6 inches of snow on top of that he lunged for every step. The only way to get above 70 here for the next few weeks is to put another log on the fire. It is still season here till end of month but really looking forward to spring this year. Good running to all. Hare :bash:

10 inches of Snow and here comes the Chinook wind and no Snow the next morning. The Indian word Chinook means Snow eater. And thats the way it goes in Eastern Washington.
The Cheat grass is growing and running great. Come hunt with me if you can. My wife is a good cook and she washes her hands too.
