What dogs seem to be the best brush/ gun dogs? I am just getting into all of this and was wondering what you guys like best for hunting hounds first field trialing maybe for fun second. I know everyone has a different opinion so just let me know what your thinking

Are you talking bloodlines? If so, one word - SHAKE!. There's no bloodline out there that will out hunt Shake. I'm not saying there aren't dogs from every bloodline that hunt hard, but Shake bred hounds are known for HARD hunting rabbit dogs.

Tracy the pup is showing signs of everything you say about the hounds in his ped. I know its early, he is only almost 5 months old, but i think he is gonna be alright

The hardest hunting brush busters I've seen come out of the old Mt State bloodline that Bernard Mulinex started. I would have liked to have seen a few of the older ones. Just about every thing I've seen with it has been good to great jump dogs that get in deep and stay.

get you a little bit of bad cliff and throw a little sunset scooter in with it and you then youve got hunt and brains to go with it. JMO.
