I have lost a few dogs over the years but got one stole tonight with me close by.I went to run a few hours this evening. It was a nice afternoon.I hear a truck pull up.Hear a guy talking on a cell phone.I thought nothing of it because there is a cave on the property we run on.I thought people were going down to check it out.I hear a guy say grab that dog it was one of my best females I have owned her 5 years.I start yelling and running towards them. They jump in a vehicle and take off.Whats the world comming to...

Sorry to hear that. My hunting buddie had one stolen in the field last season while we were hunting. We heard a truck pull off and even saw the truck from a distance. I had one that didn't like strangers and when she came running back to us we knew something was wrong and the fellow caught the dog and took the e-collar and the regular collar off the dog and laid it on the side of the road. The only reason he was not peppered was that he was out of range of the shotguns. It makes you sick to even think people do things like this.

I don't know how well this would work, but I have all of my dogs micro chipped.
If that thief ever takes your dog to the vet, they are supposed to check for a chip before checking out any new animal.
The thief would have to take the dog to the vet for this to work.

Good news.I got my stolen dog back minus the collar...I put an ad on the local radio during the trading post.Which is an hour where listeners call in with things to buy sell or give away. I took an ad saying that I had the license number of the truck that stole my dog.I was giving the people that took her a chance to do the right thing and get her back home.If not I was going to the police with my info.I paid for the add to run 5 days.Bingo got a call telling me where my dog was minus the collar.I got lucky I had none of the info I claimed to have.Just glad the people that took her did not know that...LOL Thanks for the concern and support...

I had a guy try to call 2 of my dogs that was running to him but i kept hearing something really low but i just thought it was some how a tree was moving or something then he ended up making the mistake of saying come here dogs and i yelled at him and asked him what he thought he was doing and he replied saying he thought my dogs were hung up and barking...even though they was moving the whole time LOL
Glad u got ur dog back and good thinking on that idea as well

Maybe that's why i have never heard of this in Vermont, you don't need a permit, everyone has a gun. You can bet if it were me that truck would have been full of lead!!!
