I saw ali-baba run when he was 10 yr old andfor an hour or two he could still put it on the younger ones ,his offspring that i have seen are sons to gr.sons and gr.daughters .The direct sons or daughters are hunting fools with fast foot and can find a rabbit also the gr.sons anddaughters are wound for sound and start early some like to foot on a deer to so watch the cross .

You mean there is a such thing as a mouhy Branko bred dog. That's new.
Or do you mean the bitch you bred was mouthy to Ali-baba (offspring)?
Or have you watched Ali-baba run on several occasions and thought he was mouthy?
Just curious.

baba was in MI for 4 weeks. he was ran every day and was extremely mouthy. i know of 3 guys who bought pups from branko that were the same.

know why was he mouthy, 1 to many trials, did the pressure finally get to him. dont know.

all people have to do is walk in and watch the hounds , u will be surprissed what u see when u are on top of them.

I don't have any Ali-baba in my Branko blood but my bitch has the most honest mouth I have ever owned in a beagle and if anything it would be more on the the tight side, but that is what I like. Never seen any backtracking either. Not disputing these claims just find it kind of odd. Most of the Branko bred dogs I have watched are polar opposites of mouthy and backtrackers but it is possible in any line.
A friend of mine has 2 pups grandsired by Ali-baba so it will be interesting to see how they turn out.
Interesting thread.

i have a female directly out of lumber easy rider and gays spring creek robin,,,,robin being out of heli prop,,,,this gyp is bred to him,,,,,i see nothing but brains, hunt and run a rabbit the right way,,,,,,

branko has did alot for the beagle world like him or not, just like any breed you get bad with the good. any time you put a stud dog on here every stud dog owner has to run them down.

My bitch has 4 crosses of Jack and when I say tight mouthed I mean she doesn't bark until the rabbit is moving....brains. :check: I hate a cold nosed babbler  but different strokes for different folks.

what????? alibaba was trialed to death, he cracked, broke under the presure. it has happen to alot of hounds. if they are raised right u prolly wont see any problems. guys that trial hard and alot would be more lickly. i have never said all his pups were garbage, but the man him self couldnt take the heat and cracked like my moms cheap china!!!

and also ron no one is trashing branko. i like a little branko in all my hounds.

PS i dont own a stud hound

I have a young male out of a Ali-Baba female and Smokes Creek Maximus Crank a Syris Mcgee male . What I have seen so far has been honest not opening till the rabbit was up although he has only just started to circle. One thing for sure he is a high energy pup. I was hoping for a 15 inch male but he is going to be 13. His litter mate sister started at 4 months old the first time out and was always searching and busy.

I never post on such negative things, but this time you sucked me in.....Maybe next week, we can shitbag Dingus Macrae, or East Coast Trimmer...Oh cant leave out Pacesetter, Warfield red. or Fly on Snowflake... Like those old hounds or not, how can anyone take away credit from a hound that year after year showed up on the top sire list on top or near it? Are people that ignorant or that kennel blind.
Subjects like this are the reason so many knowlagable houndsmen with years of experience, wont or dont come on these boards. Once again, I feel they still can teach us by not posting...I can only hope that one of my backtracking, mouthy, no hunting, crazy line running hounds will someday be in as many pedigree's as Ali-Baba, or any of the hounds who made this sport what it is today.

carry on with this no-merrit talk, I have paint to watch dry.
