I find this quite amusing, last week my female had her first litter of pups. I also got two males that I let roam the yard ( thats fenced )after the pups were born one of my males thought he would go and investatage the new arrivals, when he stuck his head to peer to the box he got a quick bite on the lip and as he turn to leave the kennal it was followed up with a bite to the rearend. My male must have told my other hound because he will not go near the kennel. What amuses me the most is how momma dog give these two hounds the stare( you know the one the thousand yard stare) she dont bark or growl she just stares them down. when she is out of the kennel and comes to the garage to get a cookie the other two hounds find a corner to hide in which tickles me because they never backed down from a confrontation before. I guest good ole mother nature teaches them not to mess with a female with pups.
