Have been looking at the dogs for sale and had a couple of questions for you guys. Would like to get a dog that is already started. We just got a pup, so would like to have something for her to run with and also have one with a little experience for the upcoming season. My question, do you , or can you ship dogs somehow? Mail? Seems there isn't anybody that list them on here from my area. Like the looks of some of the dogs, but they are a couple of states away from me. Would it be safe to buy one sight unseen? Just going by the pedigree? Don't know anything about this, so thanks for any info!

I have gotten dogs site un seen ,but only from people I know and trust. If you do not personaly know the seller ,go and watch the dog run. One mans best dog may be a cull to someone else. Watch the dog run in a pack and solo. Titles do not mean that a dog will suit you either.

Doug, I would suggest you make a post here for someone in your area to help you get started. If that does not work, I would suggest you join a beagle club in your area that runs the style of dog you are interested in. It is really hard start out on your own! Without a point in the right direction and good advice along the way, there is a good chance you will spend a TON of money only to end up back at square one. Good luck!

Good information given ...

I to am kinda in this situation, im just getting back into beagling
after many years of having Blue Coon dogs.
I know a few people sorta close to me that runs beagles and am'having to wait
to join a club, its full with membership at this time.
I have to wait untill a spot becomes available.

No one in my area is having any litters, there for I am having to buy outside
my circle . But on the shipping part, how is the most afordable way to go about this ?
Im looking now for another pup, I have 1 4 months old and not quite ready to start
to me anyway. Getting a 6 year old female from a local guy to have and train my pups with. I say I am, .... I havent seen her run yet but will at the club soon.
She has some trophys in trails, so im confident even without seeing her get it done.
I had a little male blue tick comming to me from a well know line
Daddy Rabbit Kennel, but just found out yesterday that the male pup I was to get
was killed by a Lab... So now im lookin for another and probably will end up having to have it shipped so help on the shipping part is what I need .
