Mans Best Friend is the one I have and I really like it.
You can create your own database. Once you enter a dog, the next time you enter it, all the ancestors will automatically fill in the pedigree.

INSTAPED Is what I use simple to use. I have 23,668 dogs on mine so far. Will print different generations pedigrees from 4 to 8. With the Power Packs it gives you more pedigtee options. Can list different data for your dogs [ registration numbers, date of birth, sex, alt. registry numbers, breeder, multipler owners]. can export your data to different files or a cd or dvd for back up. Can set print up in different colors. Can set up to show all registrey champions field or show. Made by Mans Best Friend. Check Out there Web Site
http://www.mbfs.com. The newer version has more options than my 2005 version.

I may be wrong but I think that Instaped is 49.95 + S&H. What you are seeing for 9.95/month is somthing else calledBreeder's Standard.net.

They have a net service for pedigrees that they charge by the month for never tried it bought my soft ware 3 or 4 years ago still using it bought the power packs for different pedigree forms. How much information you can put on the software depends on you computer harddrive like any thing else. I have 23,815 dogs plus other programs on my 160g harddrive and still have over 70% free space. Just like anything else back up you data. The program will let you back up your information on your harddrive, and a CD or DVD also.
