Don't forget "The Judge": 410/45 LC in a 5 shot revolver. Comes in various barrel lengths and blued or stainless. To me, the perfect rabbit gun. Prices will range from about $435 to around $700. Taurus now offers an ultralite model that is lighter and stainless.

The route I would go if I were looking for one now would be to buy a Contender action used, anywhere from $200-275. then I would find a used .410/.45 barrel of the length I prefer (I have the 16", out of production now), 10,12,or 14". The whole package, if you are lucky, may be under $500 and you have the advantage of being able to add on a rifle stock, different forends, and a hundred different calibers of barrels. I won't gun hunt with anything else for rabbits. I plan on adding on barrels for deer and varmints later.

I just purchased a contender with 10" 45/.410 barrel in 98% condition and holster off of Gunbroker for $335 dollars and I'm estatic over it. I watched for a few weeks untell one came up for auction at what I wanted to spend. You will see one pop up for auction weekly in .410 gauge but most will be in the $400 to 500 range. But if you keep watching you can get them as low as $325 to $350....Good luck...DH

I have a super commanche 45/410 i bought about 5 years ago for $160 and it shoots great #4's will shoot approx. 18"-24" pattern at 25yds. and it cost a whole lot less that contender. I have not had on problem with it at all.
